The Path I Choose

WHO: Eddie and OPEN!
WHAT: Despite being here a while, Eddie's never really checked out the school. Time to explore and possibly meet people.
WHERE: Throughout the campus
WHEN: Thursday afternoon and evening
WARNING(S): Eddie May be some swearing

Eddie expected the place to be a little crowded, but not this crowded. There were students all over the place! He kept off to the side, taking in the smells and sounds while navigating the best he could. It wasn't too difficult, really; his only issue was being trampled by late students. Once the tardy bell rang, the place all but emptied out. He took the opportunity to explore more thoroughly.

"This place is kind of cool..." He said to himself as he opened the door to the courtyard. That's when he felt a rush of cold. He quickly shut the door, mumbling something about the damn snow and how people could live here.

When the door to the courtyard had opened, she had scrambled closer for a look, and when it closed, he might have heard a small startled noise, like a cross between a startled bird and a squeak of a mouse.

People... were weird. Could she go home yet?

The odd sound did catch his ear, and he turned to the source of the noise. Perhaps he wasn't the only one who didn't care for cold weather.

"Sorry." He shrugged.

She dropped down and opened the door from the other side, standing there in the snow, seeming so confused. "I thought people opened door things when they wanted to pass through," she said curiously in her young chirping voice.

Normally, that would be the case, but... "I'm not going out there. It's freezing." Other than that place, New York was the coldest place on earth right now. With a thought, a long coat formed over him, shielding his Southern butt from any additional cold.

"If the cold bothers you, why not hibernate?" she asked, head tilted.

"If only I could do that." Because no human or mutant should be subjected to this weather. He pulled that coat tighter over his thin frame, cursing the chill that was still making its way through him.

"So why not do that then?" she asked. "Didn't you eat enough when the leaves turned?"

That confused Eddie, as he hadn't seen the leaves turn in... well... ever. Florida didn't really have a winter, so even when he could see, none of the leaves turned.

"I don't think they'd appreciate me going to bed for three months right after I enrolled."

[rhiaofdruma]

"If it is what is needed, it is fine," she said, seeming so confused.

"I think I'll be fine." Besides, he'd been in bed for too damn long. He needed to walk around again or else he'd go nuts. And that's the last thing he wanted.

"Humans are weird," she said simply.

[stillinthedark]

"Don't I know it." He snorted. "But yeah, sorry about opening the door like that. Didn't mean to let in all that cold air."

[rhiaofdruma]

"It is alright, there is plenty more cold air out here to share."
