Shaw was the Black King of the Hellfire Club. He was one of the wealthiest businessmen on the planet. He was an engineering genius and had a mutant power that made him pretty much untouchable, save for certain circumstances...

You look at him, and you see the apex of wealth and power. People like him rule the world. It leads credence to what he says... to a degree. But those weren't really the terms he was using. This wasn't your classic social Darwinism, or he'd realize he was already at the top of the food chain. At his position in life, why would he care? He doesn't strike me as the altruistic type, interested in the advancement of mutant kind... But he made it sound as if we're about to inherit the planet.

Wasn't Sublime also going on about something like that? About a "Homo Superior" condition? It was different end goals in mind, with Sublime talking about integration and Shaw talking about domination, but they both had the same core idea. That the evolution of human kind was suggesting we have some kind of... providence over the globe.
