⊗Never let it be said that Emma didn't know her stuff. Not content with the paltry and tired and cliche decorations Kurt and subjected the students to at previous events, she had completely taken over, using a combination of her wealth and mutant powers to create a sort of bohemian love palace for the students. Dance floor, tables, the finest foods. This was not a party the likes of which they had seen before... unless they were part of the older crowd, and had witnessed Emma at work before.
Was she good or was she good? On the stage, Emma stood proudly, taking each of the auctionable singles to the stage, one by one, and selling off just a fraction of their free time to the highest bidder. And the fact that it was all for charity left the whole situation comfortably guilt and obligation free.
Of course, as the host, she was more focused on the party and its guests as a whole than any particular individuals... Attempts at sneaking off probably would go unremarked upon. Probably.
[[ OOC: Each auction will receive its own top level, as well as a top level for general mingling. PLEASE CONSULT THE PLOTTING POST BEFORE BIDDING ]]

Look, even more awkwardness! If this went on, he was probably better off going back to the nurse's office. Still... he wanted to make a real effort. "I'm Zian, the school nurse. Nice to meet you."
Nailed it!

His confidence built up a little as he put out his hand for a shake.

"Are you a recent transfer or have I just not seen you down in the med lab?" Lookit him, being all social.
no subject
"You been working here a while, I take it?"
no subject
"Just since October, actually. This place is so big that I'm still finding places I didn't know of." Exaggerating, of course. He just didn't leave the office much.
no subject
"So what kind of powers do you have?" He had noticed the unusual voice and hand from before, but it still felt kind of invasive to ask.
no subject
"My powers?" Contrary to many other mutants, Zian had no problems talking about his powers; he loved them. It was the awkward appearance he was less fond of chatting about. "I heal people by supercharging their body's natural cellular reconstruction. The bigger the charge, the quicker it heals. Works on the immune system, too."
His version of excitement is apparently to sign quicker, making the words translate faster - but at least he's making some kind of reaction for those that couldn't see his dorky grin.
Zian doesn't ask about Eddie's powers, however, letting the teen bring that up on his own if he wished.

"This is mine. That Xavier guy said it kinda works like shapeshifting, but different."

The metal dreads clatter a bit as he moves slightly, trying to not break the pretty little chairs and sit comfortably at the same time. "So what grade will you be in?"
no subject
The chairs definitely weren't made for comfort as Eddie couldn't even slouch in them. "They're picking up where I left off, so I'm in the 11th grade."
no subject
"Oh, really? I hope that works out well for you. The teachers here can seem scary at times, but they all care about the students."
no subject
"I guess. So far people have been cool." There's still that worry in the back of his mind that he's going to screw it up.
thanks for putting all my tags in the trash, gmail =/
As for the people having been nice so far, he wasn't surprised. Aside from one or two grumps, the school was full of people who just wanted to study and make friends. "That's great. If you need anything, though, the nurse's office is easy to find."
/shakes fist at gmail
At least the nurse was nice enough to offer his help if need be. "Thanks. I may have to take you up on that offer."
no subject
Either way, he turns to watch the stage for a moment before turning back. "Gonna bid on anyone?"
