Who: Souji and Melinda

What: Emergency meeting concerning love confessions and things like that. Sometimes you just need a second opinion.
When: After Hijikata's ominous "We need to talk". Seriously, no one ever wants to hear that.

Once he got that message from Hijikata, Souji decided two things. Firstly, he was going to be brave and meet him for that talk, whatever it meant. Secondly, it was going to be a lot easier to be brave if he was able to talk to a friend about it first.
He had hesitated before about telling Melinda about the letter and the flowers, about the decision he'd made; it was enough that she had seen how he was acting during the date auction. He knew that his feelings for Hijikata worried her, and felt instinctively that there was some very good reason for that, even though he respected her too much to ask her too much about it. Sometimes she got this look in her eye, like a deer hearing a rustle in the grass close by, not knowing if it was a wolf or just the wind.
But now he really needed to talk to someone or he was going to explode, and Melinda was still the person who knew the most about the situation - and he couldn't keep it from her in the long run anyway. And so he sends her a message asking her to come to his room after class, and makes sure to stock up on all the things you need for an emergency counsel. That was, mostly candy. Lots and lots of candy.
