WHEN: A couple of weeks after Storm's announcement
WARNING(S): Standard Melinda warning with possible references of PTSD and rape. Others TBA if needed.

She hadn't mentioned it to anyone but principal Storm's announcement on the network, and the events that had led up to it, had left something of an impression on her. She hadn't gone to the rally but she had thought about it, and a part of her had wanted to. In the end the part of her that had insisted that it was far too dangerous had won out and she'd stayed at the school. Considering what had happened that decision had probably been a good thing and she hated it.
She just couldn't keep panicking and possibly reverse any progress she might have been able to make every time something happened, because let's face it something was always happening and from the look of things they were going to keep happening for quite some time. Yes, the rally was possibly a bit of an extreme example but that didn't change to fact that she didn't have the time to wait to get better, to become normal again, before learning how to take care of herself for the next time something happened.

The problem was that signing up for any of the different self-defence classes the school offered wasn't going to work, just thinking about it made a small shiver of panic run down her spine, encouraging her to just bolt from everything and find a nice closet to hide in until the world felt safe again. What she needed was someone who knew how to fight and who she felt safe enough with that she could handle them attacking her without her seeing IT in their place. In the end she could only think of one person who might fit both criteria. Now all she had to do was figure out how to ask.

She was still mulling these things over a few weeks later even as she met up with Souji after class to hadn out and play some video games. Still distracted and unable to fully focused on her task at hand she wouldn't be surprised if he noticed that something was off about her. Even on her bad days her playing didn't tend to such quite this much. In the end she couldn't think of a way to smoothly transition their usual banter to the subject she wanted to discuss which meant she would have to tackle it straight on.

"Could you teach me how to fight?" The words were a bit rushed and she kept her eyes fixed on the screen before her. Because while she might trust Souji enough to do this it didn't mean she wasn't still scared nervous about it.
