"... have declined significantly. Experts say the lack of activity from the formerly aggressive group may indicate a change in gameplan for the Friends of Humanity. Rather than taking to the streets and participating in violent confrontations with rioters, the Friends of Humanity have become much more visible on the internet and in social media. "A Voice for Humanity", a gathering spot for many FoH supporters, has branched itself onto Facebook, Twitter, and other social media spheres. Paul Stacy, the creator of the website and noted anti-mutant activist and writer, has stated that in the modern world, social revolutions aren't won on the streets, but on the web..."
"... resulting in the death of five officers and six others so far, the riots in San Francisco continue as masked members of the Mutant Liberation Front fan the flames, violently fighting off any attempts by city officials to regain control of the Castro Street neighborhood, also known as "Mutant Town West". The mayor has pleaded to the state and federal governments for aid in order to restore order..."
"... Reverend William Stryker, uncle to the late Donovan Zane, was finally forced to end his vigil today as a young man identifying himself as a member of the Mutant Liberation Front rushed the capital steps today, using an unknown mutant power to injure the reverend in what police are calling attempted murder. Reverend Stryker was rushed to the nearest hospital and is said to be in critical condition..."
"... President Kelly and special diplomat Gabrielle Haller left for Genosha again for another round of peace talks, but were stopped and forced to turn away as Air Force One entered Genoshan air space. There has been no word from the mutant nation as to why, specifically, US officials were invited and then summarily dismissed before they even reached land, but many in congress are claiming this is a clear sign from the Genoshan government that they are not interested in peace talks and are preparing to invade the US..."
"... holding rallies in known mutant neighborhoods in major urban centers across the US. In District X specifically, one of the masked speakers declared that they had claimed District X back from the human hands that had left them to starve and to freeze. Several food and clothing supplies, believed to be stolen and hijacked by MLF factions working in the Atlantic, were then delivered to the district's residence..."

Outside
But one could find her all bundled out, watching the sky for now.]

I'm fine, Just thinkin' away from the crowds since everyone tends ta get excited.
[She's trying.]

I've been thinking about Shaw, and what he said. About this whole... "homo superior" thing...

You look at him, and you see the apex of wealth and power. People like him rule the world. It leads credence to what he says... to a degree. But those weren't really the terms he was using. This wasn't your classic social Darwinism, or he'd realize he was already at the top of the food chain. At his position in life, why would he care? He doesn't strike me as the altruistic type, interested in the advancement of mutant kind... But he made it sound as if we're about to inherit the planet.
Wasn't Sublime also going on about something like that? About a "Homo Superior" condition? It was different end goals in mind, with Sublime talking about integration and Shaw talking about domination, but they both had the same core idea. That the evolution of human kind was suggesting we have some kind of... providence over the globe.

Although I take it you have a further point then them bein' stupid and crazy.

[Going to lean back, coming out of her huddled shape she'd been in.]
I guess it depends really. Because even if we are ta do that, it doesn't mean there won't be idiots tryin' ta hurt people. Innocents still need someone ta come up and keep them safe from what they can't save themselves from.
In all honesty? Where we stand then? It won't change a bit.

But he apparently wasn't the only one who had chosen that course of action. When he sees Marisa, he smiles and lifts a hand in a polite greeting, though there's a trace of something awkward in his expression.]
Um—
[He fumbles for something to say for a moment, then manages:]
Kind of chilly today, huh?
no subject
Yo. Yeah...Rather it be warmer then this but ya can't star gaze or watch the sky as well inside.
[After a moment she brings her arm back around her and tilts her head a bit.]
So what brings ya ta the frigid outdoors?
[Like she has any room to talk.]
no subject
[In all honesty, he really shouldn't be out here, but...]
Just trying to clear my head, I think. I thought the cold might shock it into submission.
no subject
[A slight smirk but it's still faint.]
Ah....Sounds like ya got a lot on your mind as well huh? Wanna talk about it or just let the cold decide ta wreck havoc?
no subject
I don't think it's anything most people aren't already thinking about. [Probably not worth talking about, then, he figures.] You?
no subject
[She shivers a bit, but makes no move to stand up.]
Kinda a bit of punishin' myself for how much this last mission has put me in a mood I guess...Stuff I don't wanna tell the others but know it'll end up costin' us if I don't do somethin'.

[...]
Well, I guess I can't say "room," but I'm not offering this as a counselor.
no subject
But..Holding it in wasn't going to help.]
..Eh, why not. It's better ta at least try and figure it out. Although if not as a counselor, what are ya offerin' it as?
no subject
[A beat.]
Though if we're going to talk, maybe we should find somewhere inside to do it.
no subject
[A joke but getting up to move back inside.]
Yeah..I can't argue that. Powers can only keep ya heated for so long. Lead the way.
no subject
[He sighs, but it's at his own foolishness. In any case, as he turns back toward the doors, he reaches out to hold them open for her.]
Somewhere private, then?
no subject
[Heading in and making sure to hold the door once she's inside.]
Yeah. I mean, everyone here is cool and all but some people might not wanna hear about things ya know? Maybe a classroom or somethin'?
