For those not yet sick, andother OTA game of Rhiaball!

Who: Rhia and anyone out and about
What: Yet another game of Rhia ball
Where: Outside the mansion, but on the grounds
When: Early morning to mid-afternoon every day of August (Unless something comes up)
Warnings: Shouldn't be any

Rhia had no clue what was going on, that people were sick. She didn't follow the news, didn't use the cellphone thing she was given, and never went into the building... so... she had no clue. She was thinking about what Alric and Viti had said, though. But deep thoughts were for night time. Mornings were for fun. So She was swinging through tree banches, racing with the wind... and playing a whole lot of Rhiaball.

For those who have never seen her playing this game, it mostly consisted of Rhia - who looked like she was part tree herself with brown skin, brown hair, and green clothing made of leaves and vines - curled in a ball as the trees happily threw her from tree to tree in the canopy.

Joss was just setting up her lap top when she noticed it in the distance. Out the window, she saw the trees moving their branches. She raised he brow. If couldn't have been the wind, for not all the trees moved that way, and it was so bizarre.

Slowly a smile formed, and her eyes brightened. Someone tree like was being tossed by the trees, and Joss could just faintly hear the giggling.

"Well al be." She said slowly. "That look spankin!" Joss popped open a window, and hoisted her grappling lasso. She wrapped around a tree branch and swung out like she were spider man, the wind whipping her hair, the action filling her with excitement. With a smile showing over overflowing elation she lepted form tree to tree until she were a few branches away from the swinging trees.

Joss cupped a hand around her mouth, and shouted. "Howdy! Mind if I join in on the fun?!"

She stopped, perched on a higher branch, looking down at her. "So long as you don't hurt the trees, and they're alright with it," she said with a nod.

She gripped the branch and swung around a few times, watching her with every revolution.

Joss looked over to the trees. She tilted her head.

"Hey there fellas." She said to the trees.

"Ya mind if I do what she's doin?" She hoped the tree girl would tell if she had premisson or not.

The upper branches swayed with the sound of wind rushing through them, though the air was too still to account for that much motion.

Rhia grinned. "Curl into a ball! It's fun! It's like flying!"

Joss' smile was so big she showed her teeth.

In one fluid motion, leaped into the branches and curled into a ball. She was thrusted into the air, the wind cooling her body, the bonds of gravity for a second broken, the thrill raising raising her heart.

"Yeeeeeee Haaaaawww!"

For a beautiful fraction of a moment Joss floated between the two trees. She was weightless, the sky was her cushion, before gravity finally flew her down to the next tree.

She laughed as she experienced the elation again and again. As she bounced back and forth she extended her hand to Rhia "Hey, grab ma hand. We can do a tirrly thang in the air!"

Rhia was also being tossed about like a ball between the trees, spreading herself wide on the longest throws to feel like she is flying, before curling up to be easily caught again. She is always careful with landings and whenever she moves on her own, not to harm so much as a leaf or a twig.

She was unsure about taking the girl's hand, but the trees encouraged it, so she did, during a span when they were between trees, not sure what would happen next. Human people were hard to understand.

Josh took in Rhia's hand, locked her sky blue eyes into Rhia's and saw the world spin. With a twist of her body she spun both of their bodies like she were swing dancing in mid air. The extra centripetal flung her so far when she let go that the tree had to stretch to catch her.

When Joss was flung back to the sky she held out her hands just in case Rhia had a fun trick of her own.

Rather than stretch that far, another tree caught her instead, tossing her back along the path of the others. Rhia spun as she was spun and went flying. A tree caught her gently and she held onto the branch, giving herself a moment to catch her breath, as she watched Joss. She wasn't sure she liked having that little control, and the spinning had been a bit too fast. She liked head over heals tumbling, more than pivoting around her hands, apparently. Good to know.

She fished some berries out of her pouch and ate several then held out her hand with a few more, for when Joss, as the trees dropped her onto the branch beside Rhia.

Joss let out an oof when she landed on a tree branch next to Rhia. She curled her legs Indian style, and opened her hand to accept the berries.

"Thanks." She said. The put back her head, and downed them. She let their sugars and their juices swirl in her mouth together.

"These are mighty tasty," she said showing her teeth, blue with the juices of the berries.

"Where da get um?"

"I find sweet berries, I ask the bushes which ones they are willing to let me have. Taking without asking is like a berry with no sweetness left. YEEEEEECH."

She made a face.

Joss looked up at a tree.

"It's always right ta ask, but I gotta say it ain't never occurred to me ta ask a bush for berries. So your power is ta talk ta plants?"

"Anyone can talk to plants, but most people don't bother learning to listen," she sounded a bit grumpy.

Joss looked away to stare into her thoughts. She couldn't count all the times her father used the term "tree-hugger" to refer to lazy hippy types. Joss cupped the leaves of the tree she sat on, attempting to sort out contradictions.

"What's this tree sayin now?" she asked.

"Don't ask me, close your eyes and just listen!" She was so frustrated by this. It was true that it was actually her power, but she really truly could not see or accept that. Though when she willed it hard enough some small sounds could be heard in the branches that would sound like words, at the moment, she wanted Joss to just HEAR the trees, so there was a lot of wooshing, a lot of motion, but nothing that would make a lick of sense.

Joss bit her tongue not to cringe. Her heart beat quickened as she thought of what to do.

"Ummmmm. Ok I'll give em a listen."

Joss leaned forward to another tree. She sat still, secretly wracking her brain for something to say. A cool breeze blew lifting up her hair, an vaporizing her sweat. Leaves and branches all over the forest rustled.

A smile slowly materialized. "Yeah I hear em. Don't know what there sayin, but I hear em."

She grinned. "That's the first step. You just need to practice listening so you can learn to understand. The youngest trees speak the most readily, and feeling their life under your hand as you listen helps."

Joss’ eyes shifted.

“Alright then. I’ll be keepin ma ears open for them little saplings.” Joss shifted in her branch seat.

“So ya wanna be thrown around again, or do sometin else fun?

"What else fun did you have in mind?" she asked, curiously. She always loved Rhiaball, but with two of them, she wanted to make sure that the trees didn't hurt themselves trying to do too much.

"Well..." Joss looked up into her thoughts. "Would your tree friends mind letin use their branches like ropes? Might be fun swingin around like Tarzan."

"That could hurt them," she said in a tone that made it clear this was a firm "No".

"Dang. Wouldn't wanna do that." Joss looked anywhere an everywhere but at Rhia.

"ummm..." She finally was able to look at Rhia.

"...Ya wanna uummm, check out my graplin lasso?" She shrugged, as she lifted up a strange device with a trigger, rope, and a propeller.

"I always thought it was fun."

"What is that?" she asked, frowning at it.

Joss smiled and held her shoulders high.

"This here is ma graplin lasso. Come on, I'll show ya how it works."

Joss Dashed closer to the mansion so that could be with in range of the mansion. She hoisted the lasso and took aim. There was a bang as she pulled the trigger and a propeller flew rope around a part of the massnion sticking out of the roof. She was then yanked Joss off the ground in a flash as the rope automatically rolled up.

"Yeeee haaaww!" She shouted as she flew to the mansion roof. She landed on the roof with a plop.

She cupped her hands around her mouth, and shouted. "Ya wanna try it!"

Her eyes widened and she nodded, leaning forward on her branch. THAT LOOKED FUN!!!!!!!

Joss swung to Rhia's tree and offered the device to her.

"Ya gotta aim it carefully for yer first shot, but then ya can use this here handle to turn that prapella. Then ya enjoy the ride and land on yer feet."
