⊗Never let it be said that Emma didn't know her stuff. Not content with the paltry and tired and cliche decorations Kurt and subjected the students to at previous events, she had completely taken over, using a combination of her wealth and mutant powers to create a sort of bohemian love palace for the students. Dance floor, tables, the finest foods. This was not a party the likes of which they had seen before... unless they were part of the older crowd, and had witnessed Emma at work before.

Was she good or was she good? On the stage, Emma stood proudly, taking each of the auctionable singles to the stage, one by one, and selling off just a fraction of their free time to the highest bidder. And the fact that it was all for charity left the whole situation comfortably guilt and obligation free.

Of course, as the host, she was more focused on the party and its guests as a whole than any particular individuals... Attempts at sneaking off probably would go unremarked upon. Probably.

She let her go and stepped back, eyes wide and brimming with tears, confused. "What did I do wrong?"

"I thought that was how you tell people you want to cheer them up, or to thank them..." she said. "I just wanted you to feel better..."

It's okay, Eli! We can go on a date together! I don't mind hugging you either.

"I'm Eli's clone, not Eli," she explained. "She used to remember to tell us not to say that. She;s in Room five, third floor, girls' dorm, if you want to hang out with her!"

She tilted her head, thinking. "Oh! and Two Thousand!"

Can you let her know I'll be visiting soon. And two thousand and one.

"Three thousand," she said happily. Then she smiled at the green haired girl. "I'm hoping to be dead before I could report in," she said cheerfully.

Why would you be hoping to be dead?!

"Six thousand!" She has lost all track of the point by now.

"I'm a clone," she said with a smile and a shrug. "I was created for a use. Eli doesn't absorb the ones who go to work, so I'm going to be unmade any time now. I'd rather it be before she found out what I've been doing. She gets embarrassed, which she shouldn't and that makes it harder for her to make friends. She needs to be more open," she said, nodding sagely.

That's not the same as dying!

"Isn't dying ceasing to live?" she asked.

If you're just a copy, you're not really alive in the first place. -Kagerou... doesn't stop to think how cruel that sounds.-

"Wasn't a hand alive when it was part of a person?" She asked. Okay, that example brings up all sorts of disgusting mental imagery. Thanks, clone girl.

Also, six thousand and one! -See, Palutena? She listened. A little bit.-

"Seventy thousand!" She meant to say seven. Oh well.

"WEll... no, but you do have two of them. And some people have more than two."

A hand also isn't alive on its own, its only because its attached to you. If you lose a hand, it's not as if the hand loses anything. YOU are the one losing a hand, not the hand losing its life. That's dumb!

Her chin started to quiver slightly. She didn't know how to respond. The clones were not overly bright.

It definitely sounds like I need to teach this Eli person some things...

She nodded, cheering up again. "Eli needs to learn lots of things. That is why her parents send her to school!"
