Naija cautiously emerged from the lake. Her sensitive ears could hear the sounds of shouting and impacts. Ear pressed to the ground, she felt it too, zaps and bumps. Into the trees she went, trusting their thick cover.

The security net was pretty thin this far out but that didn't mean it wasn't there. She waited for people to come seeking shelter...or to come after her.
