There's been some confusion for you see my roommate is....
Who: Natsuno Yuuki/Koide & Luvander
What: A meeting between roommates who will undoubtedly get along exactly like a house on fire.
Where: Their room.
When: Natsuno's arrival the the Institute.
Warnings: Luvander's verbal incontinence, the kind of chemistry that is likely to remove your eyebrows if you're not careful.
***
Well, the attack on the school had made it blatantly clear that while life in the U.S. was indeed very different from what he was used to, Luvander would be a fool to be letting his guard down. He hadn't exactly been warned of the possibility of being attacked in the middle of the night, but there was a part of him that would probably always be prepared for that sort of thing, and he was able to take it in stride with relative ease. But, well, he wasn't going to be caught unawares again, was he?
Which was why he had made sure to stack up on weapons, such as he'd been able to find. There were the two large meat cleavers he'd used in battle. There was another knife he'd swiped from one of the attackers, something like a hunting knife if the sawtoothed edge on the upper part of the blade was any indication. There was even a gun, though it only had three bullets left and he hadn't been able to find any ammunition, so he's have to be careful with that.
All of these things were laid out on his bed at the moment, and his previous concern regarding bullets was the reason why, when the door was suddenly opened behind him, Luvander preferred to grab one of the knives instead. He sprang to his feet, the blade held rather nonchalantly as he sized up the stranger... and then he smiled in a relaxed fashion and flung the knife over his shoulder. It made a sproioioioiong kind of noise as it stuck in his bedframe. "I'm most dreadfully sorry - not to mention sufficiently embarrassed. That wasn't very polite, was it?" He grinned, as if waving knifes around was something of a faux pas on the same level as using a sallad fork for the main course. "But may I inquire what exactly you are doing here, if you don't mind?"

Luv and Natsuno can bond deeply over being surrounded by crazies?
And then he relaxes with a laugh, allowing Natsuno to take the knife from him. It's just battle craze, he's well aware. It wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't gone three whole months with nothing happening, and then he was suddenly tossed right into a battle and riding into the midst of a group of enemies on the back of a dinosaur. And then... then he's expected to act like a normal person again, even though he's fairly certain that regardless of where he is, normal isn't something he aspires to be in the first place
"It's very sweet of you to worry about me, especially since we just met, but there is really no need for concern. I am very well aware of where my limits are, and unless I cause severe damage to my internal organs in some way, or enough trauma that my heart gives out, there is very little I can not recover from. I have even regrown limbs, although I admit that this is not something I would ever do unless I had to." He smiles up at Natsuno, noting how in a strange way annoyance seems to make him feel more comfortable about the situation. Good to know. "So I will be around to delight and astound you with my dazzling conversation for a long time yet."
they'll probably end up deeply bonding over a lot of things.. who said he ever wanted to care!!!
It's probably why he drops the knife back on Luvander's bed with the rest rather than taking it back with him when he moves to sit on his own bed again. Natsuno's a rude guy and more than just some people say he's cold as hell, but it's beyond him to take something that comfort another person away from them.
Unless said person is a rude jackass, anyway. But Luvander's more just an annoying jackass. Not quite there yet.
"Who says I'm worried about you. I just don't want them to think I did it." Because that's obviously the only reason. Obviously.
Natsuno tugs a little on his collar, widening it a little as he sighs.
"You'll at least let me sleep at night instead of going on, right? I haven't slept well in a while."
lol like he has a choice. you think it's bad now, wait until bonding over dead friends happens.
Despite himself, he allows one hand to dart out and carefully shuffle the knives to the side, and then he might as well pick up the gun and stash it underneath the mattress. If he's casual enough about it, perhaps it won't come off as a sign of vulnerability.
"An upstanding, serious-minded creature like yourself? I can't imagine why anyone would think such a thing." It's nice, at least, that a charming smile comes easily to him regardless of circumstances, and he drapes himself a bit more comfortably over the bed. "And please do not fret about your beauty sleep - I have neither any particular reason, nor any inclination to disturb it. A true soldier gets his head down whenever he can, and I will have you know that one does not get as handsome and approachable as I am by missing sleep."
no way back...
Instead he's just moving to sprawl out on his bed much like Luvander's lying down on his own, his back against the matress, letting out a deep breath.
"I'm starting to figure those will be the only blessed hours of quiet I'm going to get."
It's an idle comment though, more mumbled (but still audible) than said as his eyes glance over to the door. Ah.. it's no good, is it? Even though he's no longer in Sotoba, even though he's telling himself he put that all behind him.. it's still as if he can just imagine Shimizu standing right behind their door, as if he can still feel her eyes boring into his mind.
What a pain. Maybe Luvander's babble may actually be good for distraction, in that case. Who knows how long it'll be before he's able to shrug off that paranoia.
It's probably why he's half-cursing himself for actually making conversation further, even if he's not looking at Luvander. But it's better than just lying here and thinking. "You're a soldier?"
/muffled "Point of no return" playing in the distance
He makes a small grimace at the ceiling, because he probably should have chosen his words with more care, but then again... Well, Natsuno was going to share a room with him, so he was bound to notice some habits of his which might seem a bit strange to most people. So he might as well be honest with him - at least to a certain degree.
"I'm not a soldier," he replies, propping his cheek on his hand and watching the other boy a bit more solemnly. "However, I used to be one." He's aware that it probably sounds strange coming from someone who is fifteen years old, but it's not like he can help that. "I don't think you're the type who would sneak up behind me or do things like that, so I don't have to warn you about that. But that's the reason I am keeping all these weapons around. I hope that isn't too worrying?"
no subject
At least he doesn't give much of a reaction at the statement that the other's a soldier. Maybe it's since he's lying there on his bed with his eyes closed for a moment, or maybe he just really isn't that surprised.. they're a school full of weirdos, after all. And it's not like his own backstory is all that normal thanks to that stuff that started a couple of months back. So he answers calmly. "Not really." He doubts Luvander's going to try and kill him in the middle of his sleep, else they wouldn't let him stay here at the school to begin with..
Natsuno moves his arm up idly waving it in the other's direction a little. "Do what you want."
About the weapons, that is, okay. Don't get any funny ideas about what he just gave permission for.
"Just give me permission to use them too if anything weird pops up."
Because even if he has super strength, just plainly ripping off a head or something like that is pretty gross. Even by Natsuno's standards.
