A Sinister Legacy [PART 2] [OPEN]

WHO: Students and faculty of the Institute, plus some unfortunate SHIELD agents caught in the crossfire
WHAT: Sinster did something, ah... sinister... to Martha, and now the school security systems are attacking anyone and everyone that might interfere with his um... sinister... plans.
WHERE: The Institute
WHEN: STILL ON THE 25TH. TRUST US.
WARNING(S): Violence hooooo

As a reminder, there are THREE ways to be involved with this event:

1. Help the SHIELD agents on the front lawn survive against the school security systems! This will be combat heavy and will involve NPC assists from Nick Fury

2. Help protect other students, and those who can't fight, get to safe places! Not every section of the school is as automated as others and there are places that Sinister's infection of the security systems hasn't reached. This can be combat heavy or not at all, and will involve NPC assists from Storm

3. HELLIONS your girl No Girl needs help. Also the Professor and Logan. Your job is to head to the sublevels and break in to the most heavily secured area of the school and stop whatever is causing things to go haywire, and possibly stop Sinister himself from whatever he has planned. As usual, you will be assisted by Emma.

[They were greeted by half a dozen laser turrets, which Emma handled readily enough, running right up and literally punching them. The ones that fired at her got their blasts reflected back at them by her diamond skin.]

Forget keeping the place tidy. Martha, the Professor, lives are on the line! Just rip the whole place apart if you have to!

[Well that was... a relief? Raven wasn't really in the habit of "letting loose" like that, but at least she didn't have to worry about property damage. Still, it wouldn't make their mission that much easier on them, considering the defenses they still have to deal with.

Like the others, Raven ripped turret after turret from their mounts.]

[YOU SAID THE MAGIC WORDS, EMMA.

Because there goes Nora, careening down the hallway with Magnhild in hand, smashing what she can with the hammer and blowing up the rest.

Hopefully the coming exposition doesn't get drowned out by the racket.]

[Eddie's using the explosions to keep behind Nora, taking out any defense mechanisms she may have missed. He feels a lot more at ease now that Emma's given them the green light to wreck anything that may cause harm to him or his team.

It just makes his day.]

[He dodges a laser and rips the turret apart, smiling the entire time.]

Keep on your toes! [The hallway was getting darker as they moved on, save for the annoying red emergency lights. It was difficult to navigate, but fortunately Emma had a head on their destination telepathically.

Unfortunately, even as they got to the doors Sinister had specifically locked, Emma found herself with no way of getting them open. And not even Emma's grenades were going to get THESE doors open.]

Shit! We're going to need to find another way in...

[He hadn't asked to follow them. In fact, he had been pretty much under orders to assist above. But his best friend was in very grave danger... and only he seemed to be capable of helping at this point.]

Just tell me vhere I need to go.

Kurt, you're a lifesaver. [Emma was visibly relieved.] We can't get past this door, and it won't be long before the digistruction processes start to repair the turrets we busted up. I need you to get in there and get to Martha and get it open. I can't say what you'll face in there, but we've got things covered out here, so at least you won't be pursued.

Zhat will be fairly simple. I helped test zhese systems, after all. [Kurt gave a quick nod before BAMF he was gone again, heading into the belly of the beast to disconnect Martha from the security systems... if that was even what was causing the problem to begin with.]

MEANWHILE, INSIDE BEAST'S LAB

[Nearly finished. Nearly there. And then he could leave this abysmal coffin of steel. He hated everything about it. It seriously lacked... class. Even the mansion above was made insultingly dull by the presence of classrooms and desks.

However... it seemed someone had managed to break into his little abode. Of course... the teleporter. He hadn't forgotten about him. He knew he'd be the only one that could actually penetrate the inner halls of this once sacred place.

Sinister punched in the last bits of data and coding needed to start the self-replicating process before turning away from the molecular printer, giving Beast a good kick to his still aching head before making his way out to deal with this new pest...]

[With Kurt gone, it was up to the rest of them to make sure that nothing else would get through. Easier said than done? Most likely, especially with how things were looking.]

Heads up.

[Right on queue, turrets and defenses started to come out to take aim at the Hellions.]

[Right. So they'd let Nightcrawler deal with it - oh and that was so cool one of the established X-Men doing something amazing, before Nora heard Raven speak, and turned around.

A cackle started to form on her lips.]

... Oh man, here we go~! Noooooraaaaa..... [And she winds up with her hammer, slamming down the hallway toward the nearest turret... and promptly knocking its block off so hard it smashes into a turret behind it.] SMASH!

I knew there was a reason I liked you guys. [She only hoped they could keep this up... Kurt didn't have a lot of time before even the Hellions would be overwhelmed.]

[That gets a smile out of Eddie, who is joining Nora in trashing whatever he can before it gets worse.]
