A Sinister Legacy [PART 2] [OPEN]

WHO: Students and faculty of the Institute, plus some unfortunate SHIELD agents caught in the crossfire
WHAT: Sinster did something, ah... sinister... to Martha, and now the school security systems are attacking anyone and everyone that might interfere with his um... sinister... plans.
WHERE: The Institute
WHEN: STILL ON THE 25TH. TRUST US.
WARNING(S): Violence hooooo

As a reminder, there are THREE ways to be involved with this event:
1. Help the SHIELD agents on the front lawn survive against the school security systems! This will be combat heavy and will involve NPC assists from Nick Fury

2. Help protect other students, and those who can't fight, get to safe places! Not every section of the school is as automated as others and there are places that Sinister's infection of the security systems hasn't reached. This can be combat heavy or not at all, and will involve NPC assists from Storm

3. HELLIONS your girl No Girl needs help. Also the Professor and Logan. Your job is to head to the sublevels and break in to the most heavily secured area of the school and stop whatever is causing things to go haywire, and possibly stop Sinister himself from whatever he has planned. As usual, you will be assisted by Emma.

"Meet us down there if you get her out." Liir said, taking off towards the doors in a frantic scurry. Hopefully Kaede could hold them open with her vectors.

From behind him, he could hear the SHIELD grunts go down. Guilty-not-guilty satisfaction bloomed in him.

Kaede ground her teeth together when Rin bailed too, but--fine. With two of them they probably wouldn't die.

She turned her attention back to the doors. The locks were practically punched out, the handles and locks dangling artlessly on broken wires. Kaede's mind hadn't been so swamped with tunnel vision she forgot Liir, though she was very anxious to get those doors shut again.

Back inside, there at least wasn't a turret staring them in the face--at least not immediately. The sound-colors from outside faded, but didn't disappear.

"Which way?"

She was rather wary of that next corner.

He concentrated a second, placing his sensitive new antennae against the wall. He pointed left.

"This way, I think. But send some vectors around every corner, just to be sure."

He was going to have to be the eyes and her the hands. So to speak.

Kaede stopped responding in words; they seemed superfluous now, pointless sound. She'd seen enough of Liir's thought-colors to know who he was by now, no matter his new appendages.

A vector curled around the corner, and her scowl deepened at the beeping sound she heard. There was a gun waiting there--of course. The slight distortion of the vector made the gun's targeting AI respond anyway; they were built with mutants in mind, no surprise there.

The vector wiggled its "fingers", resonance accelerating until it became visible from the wrist down, a floating ghost-light of a hand. The turret beeped again, fired--but it wasn't a hail of plasma. They were...darts? Low energy ones, sharp enough to pierce skin, but not to kill or really injure. The darts pattered into the wall, most sticking in it. It wasn't too hard to guess what they were for.

Well, she could deal with that.

More vectors followed the first, linking together until they formed a shield further darts simply bounced off of, giving herself and Liir an almost two meter bubble to move under.

No doubt his thoughts were harsh grey.

Liir was beginning to feel superfluous. He kept up with Kaede as little projectiles spanged off of the invisible shield around them.

"Now we need to find a stairwell...She'll be on one of the deeper levels."

Cue FF7 stair sequence.

A grey with enough teal-blue in it to stand away from the background colors.

"Any stairs?" She was a little incredulous--surely it wasn't that easy.
