A SINISTER LEGACY [PART 4] - The escape.
Who: The Sick and the doctors
What: The sick plan an escape to search for a cure before it kills Nightcrawler
Where: Medical Quarantine and the docks
Warnings: Violence
Notes: Part one of the series
[It's nighttime on the 22nd, the plot is set, the day has come. It was finally time to break out, to find answers. To find a cure. They wouldn't find anything sitting here. Henry had found nothing while Kurt was getting worse, his flesh beginning to turn from blue to a boiling shade of red. He had know he didn't have much time. He knew it would take a miracle to survive much longer.
Lying in his medical bed with Flik next to him his tail flicks to the side, giving the signal that it was time to begin.
Seconds later, Flik charges straight for Zancrow, screaming at the top of his lungs and as soon as he does, Kurt bamfs from his table, appearing right next to the first person he's getting ready to teleport out.]

How long are you going to keep doing that, Krista?

[Not this debate again. Kaede sighed through her nose, looked straight ahead, and dropped her hand away from Krista's face.
-onto the smaller girl's hand, which initially made Kaede freeze. She...she meant to do that. Right? Yes. She did. Clearly.
After all, she wasn't going anywhere. She was here if Krista wanted to talk.
And she was leaving her hand on top of Krista's, too. So there]
no subject
[...What was her hand doing there?]
[Did it get there by accident? That seemed unlikely, right? Why wasn't she moving it?]
[She didn't have to move it or anything, just... why?]
no subject
Even when Krista noticed, mid-sentence.
Though that did make her tense a little, before relaxing again.]
no subject
[What else was she supposed to say?]
no subject
[It wasn't "move the fuck over" or "let go", so she did neither.]

[Krista's hand was soft. It took a major effort not to wiggle her fingers. That would be...well, that might tickle. And feel strange and then Krista would tell her to move.]
no subject
no subject
She sort of...meant to do that?
She definitely wasn't going to move away though. That would be like giving up or retreating and she was fine right here, see?]
no subject
[And for a moment or two at least, it seemed like it would stop her asking too many more questions. Krista let out a little sigh of relief.]

...sitting here wasn't so bad. The bulk of the wheelhouse blocked the wind, though the stairs were still open to the air.
Krista brought blankets with her, though, which Kaede noticed once she stopped staring off at the flickering harbor lights in the distance.]
...give me that blanket.
no subject
Oh... Right, here.
[She reached back to get her one, moving her hand away from Kaede's in the process.]
no subject
Two vectors extended from her back, grabbing either corner of the offered blanket. One vector dragged the blanket over her own shoulder--and the other dropped the opposite end over Krista.
There. Deal with that.]
no subject
[Maybe she hadn't.]
no subject
Not squawking or protesting or complaining or making excuses. Just looking at her like Kaede had turned into a ghost.
...or not quite a ghost. She didn't seem afraid, not...precisely.]
...what?
no subject
...Nothing.
no subject
It...wasn't enough to make her fidget away from Krista. And she should probably be resting.
...but it didn't make her feel odd, either. Odd and strange and like an outsider.
So Kaede held still, relaxing from fingertip to shoulder but still staying upright.]
no subject
[Getting up seems like an awful lot of effort, when there's very little for her to even do once she does.]
[So Krista closes her eyes and pretends to sleep-- but finds herself dozing off almost immediately, quite exhausted by their escape.]
