[It's nighttime on the 22nd, the plot is set, the day has come. It was finally time to break out, to find answers. To find a cure. They wouldn't find anything sitting here. Henry had found nothing while Kurt was getting worse, his flesh beginning to turn from blue to a boiling shade of red. He had know he didn't have much time. He knew it would take a miracle to survive much longer.

Lying in his medical bed with Flik next to him his tail flicks to the side, giving the signal that it was time to begin.

Seconds later, Flik charges straight for Zancrow, screaming at the top of his lungs and as soon as he does, Kurt bamfs from his table, appearing right next to the first person he's getting ready to teleport out.]

Well, now I have a retcon reason for why Eli did very little in the mansion threads

As soon as she slid in the memory of her having died, Eli's head filled with pain, as though a bomb had exploded inside her skull. She, and both clones on the ship SCREAMED in pain.

Eli passed out. The clone she was not directly controlling passed out as well, then vanished. The clone with Krista kept screaming. Her eyes were so wide that they looked like they ought fall out, and her skin was pale as paper. She kept screaming, filled with pain, writhing on the deck.

Well, that was even worse than anticipated.

Krista reached out to touch her again, trying to set everything back the way it had been before -- to seal the memory off the way Eli seemed to have. To make her forget.

In her sleep, back in the mansion, Eli calmed and stilled. But she did not awaken. The clone with Krista gasped, struggling to breathe, wide eyed, every muscle tight with pain and tension. "Wh....what.... did you do to me...?" the clone asked, and it was the clone, not Eli. Somehow that was clear, as she curled into a ball.

"I don't know... I think..."

How to explain it without just setting her off again?

"I think something went wrong with my power. Eli, I'm so sorry, are you alright?"

"E...Eli's sleeping... I'm disconnected.... I... I hurt," she whispered.

What was she supposed to do? What could make it better?

"You should rest -- maybe you'll feel better. Oh, Eli, I'm sorry..."

"why didn't she... just.... unmake me?" she asked with a whimper. "It hurts."

Calm, she projected, as she reached to stroke Eli's brow like a mother with a feverish child.

"I don't know. I'm sorry..."

The clone started to calm, though the pain remained. She closed her eyes, hoping that if she slept... she would never have to wake up.
