Training Day! [Closed to Guardian Dragons, backdated before mission]
Who: Alric, Tiamaris, Marisa, Flandre, Alicia, Hijikata
What: Team training for the Guardian Dragons!
Where: Danger Room
When: August 23rd, afternoon
Warning(s): None anticipated
It was only a few days since Marisa, Flandre, and Alicia had joined--which meant that aside from himself and Tiamaris, and Marisa and Flandre, none of them had really worked together as a group. Considering the volatile circumstances, and the difficulties so many of them had had with control, it was important to get some training time in, especially if they were serious about the team's objectives. The control issues, Alric would try and work on with Tiamaris and Alicia on their own, as well; but getting everyone to know what to expect from one another, and used to working together and thinking of one another as teammates, would be crucial.
So. At a time when they were all available, he called them together to meet in the Danger Room, with Hijikata on hand to supervise.

She looked around at the square along with Marisa, not looking at her scaly teammate lest she agitate him. Instead, she looked at how many rods led in and out of the intersection, which way traffic was going, if there were any brewing traffic jams...if there was anything in dimmer side streets to see.

Marisa no...DPS does not go first.
Without even being asked, Marisa started to slowly head towards the disturbance. Going to keep from forming anything just yet, because technically probably was supposed to keep the X-man/mutant thing under wraps.
Hey, you have a tank here who is terrified of his AOE when he goes Beserk... so. Lol
He just hoped that this was right....
no bad DPS sit down
Her wings were folded flat down against her back, like their presence would be harder to notice that way. They were just decorations, clearly! Very...really sparkly rainbow-colored ones. Just a tall lanky girl out with her friends, nothing to see here!
...it was very hard to keep her wings from anxiously twitching at the scream, though.
But she kept her head up, looking attentively forward--and ears listening everywhere else.

"...not something in the crowd. Keep together for now, but keep ready to split off. Miss Scarlet, you may need to take to higher ground; Tiamaris, be prepared to protect Miss Kirisame. If any of you are gifted with heightened senses of which I'm unaware, this would be an excellent time to bring it up."

If anything Marisa still seemed casual and walking slowly towards the scream. She trusted that the rest of the team would warn her in time to get out of there if she didn't see anything. Besides, this was to try and get them to work toghter. Why not let some faith in that come out.

Off to a great start, Flandre. She mentally kicked herself.

Alric glanced over toward Flandre, a bit troubled. Damn. Maybe he'd been confused about who was doing what part of the team flight during that training mission. He'd been a bit preoccupied with his own flight pattern, after all. Still, it was what it was. He nodded his understanding, and kept moving.
"...my misunderstanding. Good to know. If you see anything, then. Tiamaris, be ready to protect both of them."
After all, they were--at least, as far as he was aware--considerably squishier than himself, whereas Tiamaris was the least so. Still, they needed information more than his babysitting.
"Continue your approach, and be careful. I'll try and get a better view of what we're dealing with. Watch your backs, and be sure to avoid any harm to bystanders."
He paused just a moment, glancing between them to be sure they understood, before stepping briskly away into an alleyway, away from the view of the bulk of the fleeing crowds--and leaped upward with a flare of violet light, propelling himself toward the nearest vantage point (a low rooftop, for example) from which to get a look at what the people were fleeing and the team was approaching.

Still, he would do his best to protect the girls. To that end, he tried to slip between and in front of them.

[As Alric got up higher, it wouldn't be too hard to spot the source of the commotion. Outside a white marble building -- some sort of government building, perhaps? -- about half a dozen men and women stood with rifles in their hands, shouting something in a language none of the students know (threats?) at any onlookers who got too close. Behind them, some sort of humanoid machine about four times the height of a human was busily at work, tearing down walls to barricade the streets around the occupied building without much in the way of concern about who might be in the buildings getting torn down.]
Hey look who is alive and tagging?
"We've got 6 armed and a giant robot down there. What are your orders sir?"
Whoot! We got a raid party here!
"Ya think it's gonna be bad enough for a spark? Or would ya rather I hold off on that?"
Just going to keep talking a bit..and check and see if anyone had any worried about her going all out just in case.

"I can break the machine's knees from here, though I don't want to smash all of it. There might be someone inside it too."

"...Alicia... yes, I see them, as well. Can you disable or disarm them? If so, begin on Marisa and Flandre's signal. Marisa, Flandre, keep to cover as much as you can... but if you can target only the machine's legs in order to topple it to somewhere it can fall safely, do so. ...Tiamaris, be ready to get them to new cover, just in case. I'll be ready to cover you, if necessary."

She makes her way forward, hopping across a couple of rooftops and making her way into range and pulls the rifle from over her shoulder.
"Marisa, Flandre, let me know when to go"

Flandre took another step forwards, to get a clear view of her target, and then stood still. This was easier if she wasn't moving too much.
And if she didn't have people shooting at her. That was also troublesome.
As her eyes unfocused, she was glad for the machine being so tall. It made it much easier to target that, instead of the people scattered around its feet. Her hand flexed, a speck of light forming in her hand as it drew an invisible line connecting that point to one in the distant machine's hip joint.
Flandre paused briefly, waiting until the machine was just beginning to lift some heavy piece of rubble--and then crushed the point in her hand.

"Wait for the flash but be careful. I'll call it."
