New Arrival~ [Backdated to earlier in the evening
WHO: Jarvis and Open
WHAT: Arriving at the school
WHERE: Courtyard and Main Entrance
WHEN: Early evening October 27th
WARNING(S): None
This was it.
Jarvis looked up at the large mansion – even larger than the one in Malibu (but smaller than the Tower in New York City that was undergoing repairs) – that was to be his new home for the rest of his education years. A place for people like him, and Tony had shown him the information he had gathered on the Institute. Tony hadn't been happy about sending Jarvis off to boarding school, but his education needed to be finished before he could apply to college or just further his career and experiences back in California.
A dust cloud formed up as the taxi started off, leaving Jarvis with the order that Tony had given him – finish his education and then come back to Malibu. Easy enough, right? Only now there wasn’t a Malibu to go home to. The news had come while he was on the plane and suddenly he had understood how a computer felt to ‘freeze up’.
Awful.
Steeling himself with a deep breath, he picked up his suitcase and started through the gates. The entrance courtyard was nice, and had the potential to be a nice study area. It took his mind off of Malibu for a moment as he attempted to familiarize himself with the new surroundings. Already the sun was dipping below the horizon and he hadn't realized just how late he'd be arriving. That wouldn't do - Jarvis hated tardiness.
Stopping at the door, he looked for a doorbell, a knocker, then shrugged. He wouldn’t be rude and just barge in. Jarvis had better manners than that after all. He thought he heard his knock resound in the room beyond the door as his knuckles gave a firm few knocks.
“Hello? I’m a new arrival at this school, a transfer to say the least. I wasn’t informed of who to contact upon arriving though—“

'King of Kaitheny remarried!' a few news places reported.
''Prince of Kaitheny involved in a fencing accident,' one more stated.
Disconnecting and heading inside, Jarvis wiped at the blood starting down from his nose. Not again. He had reached out too far for the information again.
Shake it off.
Straightening, he sets his belongings down out of the way. "I wouldn't mind a tour, mister Alric."

"...certain you're up for it..? If you need to stop for a rest..."
no subject
"Is there a place I may put my belongings until we return? I'd rather not tote them everywhere for a tour."
no subject
"Mm. If you're sure. Probably best you don't overdo it on your first day, though." Just a brief pause to change gears. "And... yes, if you like, I can show you the residential wing, first. We can put your things in my room until you're ready to pick them up, if that's all right with you."
no subject
"Yes, that'll be fine. Simply lead the way - I'll follow, sir. Err, sorry, Alric. Habit, sometimes."
sorry I'm such a slowbie lately x.x
"...not 'sir' just yet, I'm afraid, but it's quite all right."
Of course, it was a matter of public record that he was a Knight Errant of the Most Prestigious Order of the Dragon. As with all Kaithenian knightly orders (according to wikipedia, at least), that required the completion of an Errancy (like the knightly equivalent of a thesis) to earn full knighthood as a Knight Ensign.
"This way, then."
He wasted no time, guiding Jarvis to the boys' dorm, and to his room, opening the door for him, and gesturing inside.
"Wherever you like, then."
You know slowness doesn't bother me. (:
Jarvis had missed some of the information, due to the nosebleed and not wanting to stretch too far out into databases. He needed to get a tour of the school after all!
He glances around the room, then puts his belongings down in an unobtrusive spot where they won't be a bother. "Thank you. Hopefully I'll get a room after getting a tour." Maybe he could pick any room. Maybe they had a system.
"So where do you come from then, Alric?"
no subject
"It's quiet all right. I can certainly understand how jarring a bit of culture shock can be."
Once Jarvis had set his things down, he shut the door once again, eyebrows raised slightly at the question.
"Ah, Kaitheny. A small nation in northwestern Europe, if it's not familiar. I'm afraid we aren't exactly the most influential player on the world stage."
He smiled to himself pensively at that, leading the way back.
"And yourself..?"
no subject
He walked in time with Alric, processing and organizing the information as he was given it. "Before here, it was Malibu, California. Before all of that though, eastern part of England - Ipswich. A decent size town, compared to somewhere bigger like London."
