New Arrival~ [Backdated to earlier in the evening
WHO: Jarvis and Open
WHAT: Arriving at the school
WHERE: Courtyard and Main Entrance
WHEN: Early evening October 27th
WARNING(S): None
This was it.
Jarvis looked up at the large mansion – even larger than the one in Malibu (but smaller than the Tower in New York City that was undergoing repairs) – that was to be his new home for the rest of his education years. A place for people like him, and Tony had shown him the information he had gathered on the Institute. Tony hadn't been happy about sending Jarvis off to boarding school, but his education needed to be finished before he could apply to college or just further his career and experiences back in California.
A dust cloud formed up as the taxi started off, leaving Jarvis with the order that Tony had given him – finish his education and then come back to Malibu. Easy enough, right? Only now there wasn’t a Malibu to go home to. The news had come while he was on the plane and suddenly he had understood how a computer felt to ‘freeze up’.
Awful.
Steeling himself with a deep breath, he picked up his suitcase and started through the gates. The entrance courtyard was nice, and had the potential to be a nice study area. It took his mind off of Malibu for a moment as he attempted to familiarize himself with the new surroundings. Already the sun was dipping below the horizon and he hadn't realized just how late he'd be arriving. That wouldn't do - Jarvis hated tardiness.
Stopping at the door, he looked for a doorbell, a knocker, then shrugged. He wouldn’t be rude and just barge in. Jarvis had better manners than that after all. He thought he heard his knock resound in the room beyond the door as his knuckles gave a firm few knocks.
“Hello? I’m a new arrival at this school, a transfer to say the least. I wasn’t informed of who to contact upon arriving though—“

“Hello? I’m a new arrival at this school, a transfer to say the least. I wasn’t informed of who to contact upon arriving though—“
Oh hello
Rather than an immediate answer from inside, it came from off to the side, accompanied by the sound of someone approaching: a young man, perhaps a couple years Jarvis's senior, dressed casually but fairly sharp, but with uncommonly long black hair. He was certainly distinctive enough Jarvis could pick him out with a reverse image search if he wanted.
"Ah, good evening. Here. Let me get the door for you."
He strode up with an air of easy confidence and casual athletic jauntiness, hopping up the steps to get the door for Jarvis, smiling politely. None of Tony's bravado or ribbing, though--at least, not yet.
"Please do come in and relax until someone from the staff is available. Your trip was a pleasant one, I hope, Mr....?"
:3
JARVIS did his best not to be startled, though he did turn quick at the sound of a voice addressing him from out of sight.
Seeing the other, he was already creating a profile in his mind for future reference. The question receives a small nod and he stands back to give the other some room to get to the door.
"As well as any trip could be. No 'mister' required though - Jarvis will be fine," he answered, and then held out his hand in greeting.
no subject
"...well, I'm certainly flattered to be invited to address you in so familiar a manner. My name is Alric Caelegart."
The name, also, was distinctive enough it wouldn't be hard at all to research.
"Is there anything with which I might be of assistance while you wait for a more official welcome?"
no subject
Jarvis studied the other with a look, then pausing in all motions. Completely still, his eyes seemed to brighten--
Connecting...CNN, Fox, MSNBC--
He linked quickly to different databases, attempting to do a search on the new person he just met. "It is the only name I can go by." It felt too strange to use a last name that he didn't even remember, and even though Tony didn't mind it, Jarvis didn't feel comfortable using the Stark last name.
"I'm not sure. Usually I'm the one being an assistant to someone, not the other way around." He heads inside, immediately looking around. "Spacious. I doubt I'll have a room assigned to me yet. I'm not overly familiar with the grounds as of yet, either."
Not from a non-googled POV anyways.
no subject
"I rather like to believe that we all have some way in which we can assist one another. I'm afraid I can't help much with the former, but I could certainly show you around, if you like, and answer any questions you might have--or at least take a stab at them."
no subject
'King of Kaitheny remarried!' a few news places reported.
''Prince of Kaitheny involved in a fencing accident,' one more stated.
Disconnecting and heading inside, Jarvis wiped at the blood starting down from his nose. Not again. He had reached out too far for the information again.
Shake it off.
Straightening, he sets his belongings down out of the way. "I wouldn't mind a tour, mister Alric."
no subject
"...certain you're up for it..? If you need to stop for a rest..."
no subject
"Is there a place I may put my belongings until we return? I'd rather not tote them everywhere for a tour."
no subject
"Mm. If you're sure. Probably best you don't overdo it on your first day, though." Just a brief pause to change gears. "And... yes, if you like, I can show you the residential wing, first. We can put your things in my room until you're ready to pick them up, if that's all right with you."

sorry I'm such a slowbie lately x.x
You know slowness doesn't bother me. (:

"It's inconceivable that no one has tried to kidnap me yet. With my power everyone should be after me."
Viti mumbled in growls, as though he was disappointed.
no subject
"Oh, would you like some help?" They looked heavy and after years of being an assistant...well, some habits just died hard. Or never. Never ever.
no subject
"Oh no the eggs!" Viti dove to catch the back full of eggs, but he would be too slow. Would the new person catch it?
no subject
Jarvis hadn't meant to startle the other, but there wasn't a point in dwelling on that thought now. With his own effects out of harm's way, he went right for the bag that was flying through the air, face set as he reached out...
... And barely snagged it by the handle of the bag. Fingers grabbed hold and pulled it in, saving the contents from cracking against the ground. "Sorry," he started with, straightening up and facing the younger person. "I didn't mean to startle you."
no subject
"That was close. Thank you for saving the eggs but..."
Viti leaned to closer to Jarvis' face his eyes canning him.
"...where did you come from?"
no subject
Jarvis doesn't look nervous, but he does lean back upon being studied. "I've only just arrived. A new student - from Malibu," though he doesn't even sound like he's from the USA as much as he does from the UK. He holds the bag of eggs, intending to help by carrying them in for the other.
no subject
"Malibu huh? Well welcome to the institute. Here you'll find that 92% of currency exists only on computers."
Viti tilted his head in confusion at his own statement. It wasn't what he meant to say. Suddenly his eyes bulged.
"Oh sorry. My power was active!"
I feel you about the icons. XD
Only the other sends him for a bit of a loop with the almost cryptic sentence.
"Excuse me?"

The person pulling the door open would have been difficult to miss under most circumstances; an absurdly tall beanpole of a young woman, blonde and pallid with bright red eyes and what looked like metal wings folded on her back. But instead of feathers or any sensible flight surfaces, there was only an array of seven-colored prisms hanging from the frame like softly glowing ornaments. She was wearing a simple red dress and vest over a white shirt, which her wings were apparently sticking out the back of like they had been attached there.
"Hello! You'll want to see one of the advisors, I think. I can show you where their office is," Flandre said, smiling brightly.
no subject
To say that he's stunned at who opens the door is an understatement. He's not expecting such a girl... woman to answer the door, and the wings attached to her back are quite phenomenal to say the least. They almost look mechanical yet artistic - and something Jarvis could find himself fascinated with.
"That would be quite helpful, thank you. My flight had been delayed, so I apologize for arriving so late in the evening." Jarvis severely disliked being tardy in any occasion - how he and Tony got along was a wonder indeed.
no subject
The young woman scooted back to the side to let the new arrival through the door. The tips of her wings flick out a bit, as if aware they're being watched and wanting to show off to best advantage.
"Did you have any trouble at the airport...?"
no subject
Collecting his belongings off of the porch, he shuffles in and note: he takes care not to bump her or get into personal space. A good gentleman here.
"Oh no, just some delay in Chicago because of the weather. I've experienced worse things before. I probably should've taken the train from Chicago to here and a taxi the rest of the way, but nothing to do for it now."
Jarvis swings his bag over a shoulder and holds out his hand. "Excuse me, I'm Jarvis. Apologies, I usually try to do introductions first."
no subject
Not at the school itself, but in the surrounding city. And elsewhere, she imagined.
The young woman closed the door after he was through, to keep the chill away. Her smile brightens again when he introduces himself, and she reaches her own hand out to shake his, mindful of her claws. Tearing up a new student's hand was hardly the best first impression!
"I'm Flandre, nice to meet you."
no subject
Jarvis didn't know what she was talking about, but perhaps after some time here at this school, he'd find out. Maybe there were news reports and the like for it that he could tap into later whenever he was alone. Didn't want to worry someone else with an overexertion nosebleed.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Flandre," and he takes her name a tad bit slower to make sure he's pronouncing it correctly.
no subject
"Have you visited this area before?" she asked, releasing his hand.
no subject
Dozens more questions ran through his mind.
"I think the furthest I've really been is New York City. This is quite different, though I won't complain. It's quiet." Hopefully the wi-fi didn't suck here. Jarvis was rather dependent on it, though he'd deny all day and night.
