"... calling themselves the 'Mutant Liberation Front', or MLF, the campaign of vandalism and propaganda has been extensive in Europe and has started to appear in the United States and Canada as well. I think it's since they need to feel really threatened before they do anything. [ That's the way it had been back home, anyway.. ] Of course they already do now, but.. until something big happens, they won't bother to move. Even a few smaller incidents might not be enough to get their attention.

[ He pauses, and then lets out a sigh. It's still somewhat casual though, especially considering the subject matter here. ]

.. That's just my speculation, though.

Hm, you think so? To be honest, I'm more used to authorities jumping to put down any kind of dissent. It's when they're being asked to help people that they sit on their hands. [She pushes some hair over her shoulder with a shrug, as if to say there's nothing to be done about it.] I can't say I've been here long, though, so maybe this government is just totally toothless instead.

[See, she's capable of moderation!!]

Ah, I'm not from here either.

[ But the fact that he's Japanese is not really as apparent with his anime hair, huh.. he casually shifts a little bit. ]

I come from a small village in Japan, so the authorities probably didn't care much about that place to begin with. I thought it might be the same on this kind of bigger scale.

[Hey, where you were born doesn't mean anything about where you were raised! She would know, seeing as she hasn't been back to Japan since she was an infant...]

From what I've heard, it's pretty typical for Japanese authorities to look the other way. [She means when it comes to mutant issues, of course.] Where I grew up, though, they could crack down pretty hard. And from the sounds of things, a lot of people who want to do the same here just got elected, right?

I'm not too sure about here. [ He didn't transfer that long ago, after all, and even then he's not too big on keeping up with every detail of the news and who's in charge. ]

You might be right though. Maybe something will change soon then.. people already said it feels like there's trouble brewing, but I guess I'm not really the type to just be able to feel that sort of stuff coming.

[ Mostly since other issues than just plainly mutant ones were on his mind back home. ]
