The entire campus is decorated for the holidays in red greens and silvers. It seems just about every major winter holiday is represented in some way. In the main lobby, there's an absolutely gigantic tree done up in a brilliant light display, with Emma Frost's touch added to the star. She's probably off somewhere enjoying a spot of cocoa with her old comrades, even. But really this wasn't so much for the Institute itself, but for all of its students. The ones that had no other home to return to....

Meulin simply smiles and shrugs, "It's fine! I mean, I know I sort of sprung it on people!"

Raven wasn't really the type to think too much about Christmas. To her, it was just another day. "You do this every year?"

[hearmyfeels]

"I do. At home there isn't quite so many people to worry about. I usually just did my class but I don't really have a class here."

[loveswaffles]

"It's a lot different than the last normal school I went to, that's for sure." Much more accepting, too, which was another plus.

[hearmyfeels]

"Different?" She picked up on that word best and nodded eagerly, "Yeah. But I like this school better. Boarding school is like something out of a novel and everyone has such amazing powers."

Even after a few months and an attack that she did not tell her father and sister about, she still has a soft spot for their school. Not idealized perhaps but certainly rose tinted. Then again, that was her general outlook.

[loveswaffles]

"Not all powers are amazing, you know. Some of them can be pretty dangerous." She knew too well.

[hearmyfeels]

"Mn, I know. But it's really rare don't you think? For a power to be purely dangerous. Most powers have a silver lining, something they're good for."

She tilted her head, watching Raven perhaps a little too intently. It's an interesting conversation after all.

[loveswaffles]

"That depends on who's using them, and if they actually have their powers under control." Not everyone could claim that, and even if they did, there was always the possibility that power like that could be abused. Used for all the wrong reasons.
