The tension in the air was palpable. The crowd that had gathered was massive, many of them wearing MLF armbands and face masks. Signs were lifted, chants were heard, there was even a nearby bonfire with scarecrows being torched, their faces covered in photographs of Graydon Creed and William Stryker...

The stage set up was crude. There were only a few spotlights, and a rudimentary PA system. A few people had already spoken, but there was still a rumbling in the audience. They all knew that SHE was here. The woman who had thrown the first stone. A woman whose name they had all come to respect. They chanted for her.

Ren. Ko. Ren. Ko. Ren. Ko....

It was as if she was some sort of mutant messiah, and these were her disciples...

The internet has become a battleground like any city street..."

Volunteers are urging everyone in District X to be extra careful as the season progresses, to regularly visit the shelters and soup kitchens, and to not try to brave the winter storms alone. He said we all have to look at ourselves and find the courage to do the right thing and love our fellow person, no matter what the circumstances. WHAT: Christmas celebration with the families.
WHERE: Hells Kitchen, Mardovich Household

Christmas in December wasn't commonly a huge thing in the Mardovich family, as they mostly celebrated Russian Christmas much later in January. Still, it was a beautiful holiday and Zian had truly looked forward to seeing his mom again. The medic always worried that she'd be lonely now that his father had passed, but she seemed to be doing well. Instead, she did her best to help the community (and especially mutants) at every holiday, and Christmas wasn't any different.

Zian was pretty certain he'd scrubbed every inch of the apartment, including the bathroom twice before his mom was satisfied that it was clean enough to have guests. The kitchen was still overfilled with reheatable boxes of Christmas food for the needy, and he had to dance around them every time to set the table for a nice little dinner for them as well.

Truthfully he was a bit nervous to meet Takakage's brother, but it was going to be a lot of fun to have his friend over. To be a real, normal social person for the first time in his weirdly sheltered life. His mom was ecstatic that he had found a friend, which made the large mutant rather certain it would end up a bit embarrassing as well.

WHAT: Holiday goingons

The entire campus is decorated for the holidays in red greens and silvers. It seems just about every major winter holiday is represented in some way. In the main lobby, there's an absolutely gigantic tree done up in a brilliant light display, with Emma Frost's touch added to the star. She's probably off somewhere enjoying a spot of cocoa with her old comrades, even. But really this wasn't so much for the Institute itself, but for all of its students. The ones that had no other home to return to....

WHAT: A Thanksgiving dinner for the school.

Logan preferred hockey to football, but it was on, so the bigscreen was left there while he and what faculty were left plated everything buffet style, with a stack of plates at the end of the line for students to pick up and gather what they wanted. And, of course, all dietary conditions were met by the variety of foods, thanks to Hank's thorough list he'd made. Logan, of course, looked a bit more grumpy about it since Ororo was gone to spend time with her family, leaving him behind to babysit the kids. At least that's how he thought of it. At least he was left in good company...

After the U-Men incident and the follow-ups, it had been rather calm in the medical department. A few scratches, sprains and a belly ache had been the only thing Zian had to worry about. Instead, he had taken time to familiarize himself with both the ground floor office and med lab, as well as the infirmary and research labs down in the sub-levels. The nurse's office was kind of his home, however, leaving the more serious stuff to the doctors.

That meant that he also ended up personalizing it a bit with some nice, comic-book posters to make the kids feel more at ease, as well as his precious water boiler for the days he just wanted something warmer in his feeding tube. (Though he usually said it was used for tea just in case he'd gross anyone out... plus some might actually want tea while talking symptoms.)

It also included one technopath-made boombox, because his dad had been awesome. It was currently playing rather loud music, easily heard in the corridors outside the nurse's office. Someone liked ridiculously chipper pop songs, right?

WHAT: Sublime's U-Men attack the school. They're aiming for the sublevels. Stop them at all costs!

WARNING(S): Gonna get violent.

The time was now. The media attention over his followers actions was too much. And after all, Xavier's little henchmen in London had figured it out. He was sure of it. There was no more time to bide. No more room for hesitation. It was act now, or the revolution would end in a prison cell, festering away in the disgusting care of this unclean world. Sublime couldn't stomach it. Couldn't fathom it. And whatever god help those who stood in the way of him and his dream of Homo Perfectus.

"All units are in place," Sublime whispered, peering out over the immaculate green, covered in moonlight, staring a drilling, piercing hole into the mansion. "Martha... it's your turn now," another whisper, as the floating apparatus before him, holding a strange glowing orb, began to shine even more brightly.

Just like that, the security systems failed. And just like that, Charles Xavier gasped and sent out a short, psychic burst to all X-Men, perhaps to everyone in the school, before he was overwhelmed and silenced, collapsing from his bed to the floor, stunned into sleep by a psychic force even he was not prepared for.

"This is it, Martha... our dream... U-Men! Bring me the Ashes of the Phoenix!" And like that, dozens of the men from the blurred video that Glamour and Spy had managed to obtain swarmed the ground, organic and mechanical, using a plethora of stolen mutant powers, attacked.

Their ultimate goal is the filed away genetic samples of Jean Grey in the sublevels. They must be stopped, before someone uses them to integrate Jean's powers into a U-Man. ]]

However, nothing is set in stone, as Genoshan leader Erik Lehnsherr has been very public with his criticism of the US and its president..."

Warnings: Annoying women transforming into her colleagues to make nsfw sounds into a phone. Most likely, this will attract some swearing at her.

Christelle likes to be creative when it comes to her pranks, particularly when dealing with Bigby Wolf. Given his rude dismissal of a date she'd arranged for him with a lovely young woman in the city, she'd filched his phone during one of their last conversations (i.e. she kept making jokes of his eating habits until he tried to punch her. Again.). Now that she's got some time between classes on her lunch break, she's going through his contact list and making custom ringtones for each of the staff, transforming into said person and practising making some rather inappropriate sounds until she's satisfied with one, saved, and moved on. She's even being productive, practising the noises while marking papers!

Needless to say, anyone stopping in will catch her as any of the other staff members pausing mid-moan to greet them, easily transforming back into her regular self. "Bonjour! Did you need something?"

WHAT: Club Week is underway, and now we have booths set up for people to really recruit and get their ideas out there. Several NPC clubs have been set up as well. Plus, once again, if you want to get in on some X-Men team building, now's a great time for it.

It's about halfway into the second week of school. People are already starting to form friendships, build social circles, and embrace student life on the Xavier campus. The faculty has set up several booths in the foyer after normal classes on Wednesday in order for students to centralize recruiting for their various interest groups. Some familiar names pop up, of course. "Anime Club", "Chess Club", "AV Club", "Soccer Club", "Glee Club", "GSA Club", "Bible Study Club" and others. It's a pretty inclusive school, after all, so why not have a broad representation of interests?

As classes let out, students are encouraged to look around, get involved, and otherwise put forth the foundation of their social lives for the school year. And of course, there's always people looking to put together teams for other purposes, too...

Whoaaaaaa... [ When the people that picked Yoshika up told her that she would be taken to a safe haven; to a school for "people like you" and that it would be an upscale facility with every need spoken for, they neglected to mention how fancy it was. She was as slack-jawed as she was empty-handed, save of course for the two-pound bulk bag of beef jerky in her clutches.

Hey. It was a long flight. A zombie's gotta eat, y'know.

But for now, Yoshika just wandered the outside perimeter, taking in all the sights. Her face is good at expressing her awe even if her blue eyes don't have a single spark of life in them. With her stiff and awkward gait and the greyish hue of her skin, there is no mistaking what her damage is. She seems quite curious about literally everything, so expect her to get in everyone's face at some point or another to ask: ] Who're you?

[ ...yeah she's never been the best at talking to people. Taking the advice of "just ask who they are if they don't know" is probably not the best tactic when you look and act like she does not. ]
