[OPEN] A guaranteed personality

WHO: Souji, anyone who agreed to go shopping with him, and anyone else who wants to tag along.
WHAT: You know in high school movies / chick flicks when there's this awesome empowering shopping montage where everyone is laughing all the time and no one isn't fabulous?
This probably isn't going to be like that, let's be real.
WHERE: New York, I'm guessing. No, they didn't take the jet there, sorry.
WHEN: Saturday, 13/9
WARNING(S): This is a company consisting of a man who used to eat people, a woman with a PhD in Sexual Innuendo, a teacher who still has romantic feelings about someone who is technically a high school student, a high school student suffering from mutation-induced violent tendencies, and a rape survivor with PTSD. So, probably yes. Only Bridget isn't a walking CW/TW in and of himself, but people's reactions to him might warrant it.
Will add more specific things if required.

Souji is already pretty hyped up on excitement about everything by the time they reach their particular store, it's even been a little hard at times to actually get him to focus on the whole trying on clothes thing. And of course there's been the whole crowds thing. But, well, it's a different matter entirely when Christelle as specifically taken him to this place on his request, right?

And so he detaches himself from Hijikata's arm, leaving him to carry everything that has already been bought during the day, and flits over to Christelle. He laughs as she transforms to look almost like him, reaching out to poke her cheek experimentally, and then grabs on to her wrist and tugging her inside. Then he hesitates a bit, as if suddenly realizing that he's not sure where to direct his momentum. "So... where do we begin?"

She wrinkles her face at the cheek poking but lets herself be tugged along, behaving just a bit like an exasperated older brother that's been dragged out for shopping. When Souji wavers, she immediately puts her hands to his shoulders and leads him to the shirts and waistcoats. "What colours do you like?"

Souji is only too happy to allow himself to be led - he always has been, really, because he was practically born to be someone's follower. And this is a new world for him in so many ways, it only makes sense for Chris to take the lead.

"White. I mean... light colors, soft colors, pastels." He laughs and wrinkles his nose a bit. "I guess that's not very goth in itself, but I guess I'll have to compromise."

"It's not common, but it is done," she answers as she peruses the racks before pulling out several different styled blouses in varying shades of blue - ruffles, lace, cross-shaped buttons, oh my! These are all piled on Souji's arms while she then digs through the vests, coming out with a couple of pieces in white and very pale grey with the matching pants. These too are tossed into Souji's arms before he's being coralled into the changing room. "I'll go look for some coats while you try those one~"

He half trips, half skips into the changing room, feeling as if he's already drowning in clothes but not minding terribly much. The first shirt he tries out is too big in the shoulders for such a skinny creature as he is, and he laughs and holds up one hand noting how the sleeve ends up covering it completely.

The second, dark navy with eggshell blue details, fits him a lot better, and is also very comfortable on top of being pretty. He adds a white vest on top of that, and then covers his mouth and giggles just a little bit nervously at the sight of himself in such fancy-looking clothes. "Desrosiers-sensei? I'm not sure if I look nice or just really silly, but I think maybe I like it."

"Let me see-" is all the warning he gets before she's poking her head in and giving him a once-over, smiling at what she sees. "I think you look very nice. Here, try this on top-" she adds, ducking back out as she rifles through the white coats she's found before passing in one that's obviously had explicit influence from period military wear, pearly grey braid sewn down in intricate patterns along the front and wide cuffs, embellished with silver buttons.

Souji looks nothing but pleased to actually have a second opinion which isn't nearly as overwhelmed and happily distracted by everything as his currently is. He slides the jacket over his shoulders, adjusting it a bit, shifting his shoulders a bit to get used to the weight.

It looks... strange, still, especially with the simple harem-inspired sport pants he's wearing, something left behind by a version of him that he can't make himself remember at all. But nice too. Not necessarily exactly like the idea of himself Souji has formed from the memories he does have, but not like anyone else's idea of him either.

He gathers his hair with one hand to keep it from getting in the way, watching his reflection with interest. "It's really very nice. But pretty fancy too, right? Then again, I suppose it's not exactly something people wear every day."

"Some do, but it's a lifestyle choice. This style is certainly more formal and elaborate than some of gothic clothing, but there's a definite elegance to it," she shrugs, before pointing at one of the white pants she'd handed him earlier. "Try putting those on with this lot and I'll go find you some boots to match."

Souji hesitates for a moment, pursing his lips, and before taking on the pants he wriggles out of the jacket and swaps his vest for one of the grey ones, one that rather nicely matches the decorations on the jacket. Then he pulls it back on and unceremoniously kicks off his pants, hesitantly exchanging them for the ones Chris handed him. These... certainly are a lot tighter than anything he usually wears, but they don't restrict his movements nearly as much as he would have expected. That's good. He really doesn't like feeling like something is holding him back.

Turning around and pulling the jacket up a bit so he can inspect himself over his shoulder, he has to admit that they make a rather flattering impression, too. "I almost feel indecent like this. That's a bit silly, isn't it?"

"You're just not used to it, which is a shame since you've got quite a good rear for tight clothing," she answers as she passes him a few different boots to try on with his current outfit. One of the few memories she still possesses of her past includes when she first used the money she'd gathered to buy herself something pretty, new, and, most importantly, in fashion. She'd refused to wear it out at first because she wasn't sure showing so much leg while her curves were accentuated by said outfit was a thing she wanted. Needless to say, she grew very used to such clothing.
