WHO: Souji, anyone who agreed to go shopping with him, and anyone else who wants to tag along.
WHAT: You know in high school movies / chick flicks when there's this awesome empowering shopping montage where everyone is laughing all the time and no one isn't fabulous?
This probably isn't going to be like that, let's be real.
WHERE: New York, I'm guessing. No, they didn't take the jet there, sorry.
WHEN: Saturday, 13/9
WARNING(S): This is a company consisting of a man who used to eat people, a woman with a PhD in Sexual Innuendo, a teacher who still has romantic feelings about someone who is technically a high school student, a high school student suffering from mutation-induced violent tendencies, and a rape survivor with PTSD. So, probably yes. Only Bridget isn't a walking CW/TW in and of himself, but people's reactions to him might warrant it.
Will add more specific things if required.

After having gone through several shops and multiple transformations to suit some of them so she'd be able to see clearly without her sunglasses, even Christelle is just a bit tired and has to take a breather. With Bigby to watch Souji in one of the other half-milion candy stores they've passed, the frenchwoman settles on a bench next to Souji and takes out her cigarettes. "Your little man 'as far more energy than should be 'ealthy," she comments drily.

Next to Hijikata, I'm assuming?

He takes a drag from his cigarette, then goes into his pocket for his lighter, the same one he always keeps on him (discreet, silver, with delicate little etchings on the surface) and offers it over to her.

"I'd suggest he saved it all up in stasis, but he's been like that for years and years."

Not since they first met -- he was quiet and sullen then, with large eyes full of nothing. It had taken months of support for him to really come alive, and Hijikata wouldn't trade anything in the world for the liveliness he had now -- it might be a little bit of a nuisance, from time to time, but it sets his heart at ease to see Souji so able to smile, even when he can see right through it.

"Merci."

She lights up and takes a much needed inhale of smoke before releasing it with a pleased sigh. "Per'aps you should take 'im out more during the weekends." On dates, or to walk him like a dog, either works.

Nodding at her thanks, he leans against the back of the bench, catching his breath while he has the time to.

"He certainly seems to be enjoying himself today, at least."

He was Souji, though, so he'd probably find ways to stay entertained no matter what. They'd just get more and more obnoxious if he wasn't paid attention to... Perhaps he was a little bit like Christelle, in that sense. Hijikata had the good taste not to say so.

Not a telepath and therefore unable to know of Hijikata's train of thought, she just chuckles quietly and glances into the shop window just in time to see Souji fill his basket full of sweets. "So it would seem. Though I'd 'ate to see just 'ow much livelier 'e might get from eating all that sugar."

Ah, yes. Hijikata felt the ghost of a thousand old headaches cry out with that memory.

"Not sure if it's the sugar itself, or just how damn excited he gets about it."

"A lethal combination, if ever I saw one," she muses, smirking at the thought of Hijikata having to deal with an even bouncier Souji.

"Don't look so damn pleased about it," he sighs, because appearances have to be kept up, even if it's somewhat carelessly. "He's a nuisance when he's like that. Maybe he won't try to get me to eat it this time..."

"I wouldn't count on it. Let me know if you need a stomach pump," she snickers, completely unrepentant on how amused she is with Hijikata's predicament.

"You're enjoying this too much." He takes a deep, deep drag, sighing it out into the still-warm air. Really, Chris. It's sick. How does he keep surrounding himself with people like this, again?

"I'm a sadist at 'eart," she agrees cheerfully.

[koukai_kirai]

"Unsurprising." He glances at her for just a moment, with the thinnest veneer of irritation. "You'll have to find someone else for that part, though."

"Shame," she 'sighs' sadly. "I 'ad such wonderful ideas."

"I'm sure I can find other ways to make it worth your time."

Which was to say that he hadn't had any trouble doing so thus far.

"I look forward to it."

Hey, at least one person knows how to keep her from getting too bored and causing trouble for the sake of alleviating it.

"I'm certain you do."

Tormenting Hijikata: basically the school pastime, at this rate. He certainly gets something out of Chris using him for entertainment, at least.

"I've noticed you yourself don't exactly suffer from our little get-togethers," she points out with a slight smirk.

"Not unbearably." What, she can take a little teasing.

That she can. "I do try."

"At least I won't die bored if I ever run afoul of you."

"Non, you'll just die a slow, creative but painful death," she quips rather flippantly.

"Well, that's always been a risk."

Seriously, he's been pissing off supervillains periodically for years.

"Actions and consequences."

Smirking, she gestures at the shop window with her cigarette as Souji starts eating all some of the candy he's purchased. "Like so. I look forward to seeing you cope with the consequenes of that."

"Hm. At least someone does."

"If you found it that terrible an ordeal, you wouldn't allow 'im the pleasure of 'aving sweets in the first place. Or being present when the sugar takes 'old," she points out with a quiet snort.
