A Sinister Legacy [PART 2] [OPEN]

WHO: Students and faculty of the Institute, plus some unfortunate SHIELD agents caught in the crossfire
WHAT: Sinster did something, ah... sinister... to Martha, and now the school security systems are attacking anyone and everyone that might interfere with his um... sinister... plans.
WHERE: The Institute
WHEN: STILL ON THE 25TH. TRUST US.
WARNING(S): Violence hooooo

As a reminder, there are THREE ways to be involved with this event:

1. Help the SHIELD agents on the front lawn survive against the school security systems! This will be combat heavy and will involve NPC assists from Nick Fury

2. Help protect other students, and those who can't fight, get to safe places! Not every section of the school is as automated as others and there are places that Sinister's infection of the security systems hasn't reached. This can be combat heavy or not at all, and will involve NPC assists from Storm

3. HELLIONS your girl No Girl needs help. Also the Professor and Logan. Your job is to head to the sublevels and break in to the most heavily secured area of the school and stop whatever is causing things to go haywire, and possibly stop Sinister himself from whatever he has planned. As usual, you will be assisted by Emma.

Kqguya moved as quickly as she could, occasionally needing to move aside to give Kagerou more room.

There were on their way, though, and Kaguya was healing up all the time...

[Feliks wrinkles his nose, digging in his purse for another soda can as stun darts patter against his shield. He hardly seems to notice the physical changes in Eren -- he's been fighting with the X-men too long, maybe.]

That's good, so we can have a talk about your weird body image issue later.

You can bitch about being alone, but you're not the only one out here to save people, and we can all get more done together. You know that, right?

[The scent of blood is sharp -- it throws her back in time, makes her stomach twist as she remembers her mother's body hitting the floor. She doesn't even have to completely fake the panic that grips her when she looks at the wound.]

Mr. Arronia -- you're hurt! We have to get somewhere safe...

[Does she have anything to use as a bandage, a tourniquet? Krista tears her gaze away from him, searching more actively for somewhere that's out of any line of fire.]

[That was... very much not the reaction Krista had expected. She blinked a little, but tried to shake off her shock, offering her hand to Kaede, trying to give her a little bit of trust.]

It isn't safe here. Can you get up?

Maybe... I might be able to help with that. With keeping people calm, so we can get them to safety.

Do you know where the teachers are bringing people?

[The not-quite-Kaede kept right on looking at Krista, like an inquisitive child. There wasn't any glaring malice or suspicion--or recognition--at all there.

Which was a stark contrast from when the definitely real Kaede noticed Krista's presence. The soft-edged ghost-thoughts seemed to wave their hand and disappeared, back behind a bristling shield of more familiar, angrier thoughts. Kaede glowered over her shoulder at Krista, eyes narrowed and suspicious.]

When did you-[she stopped to wheeze]-get there?

[Her head was still ringing, and she hurt far too much to concentrate enough for a single vector, let alone cut through the cables.

Could she stand? Well, she could try-

-her arms were still snared. With a growl, Kaede struggled to her knees; she didn't entirely ignore Krista's presence, though. At the moment, she didn't have any choice but to trust her right now, did she?]

[Flandre lunged forwards as soon as she saw the mirror-surface move, keeping her profile low--so low she pitched her shoulder into a roll, clamping her wings to her back. She saw the rifle swinging back down as if it was snared in tar, and sprang up at its exposed undercarriage, where she could see the wiring and hydraulics.

They sparked before her claws tore them away, slashing through to the metal carriage--and through that too. The latter could be easily welded back together--the former left her fingertips and claws trailing smoke.]

[Marisa, for the moment, just keeps focused on throwing the stars about, letting them detonate as soon it was viable.

She's slowing down a bit, the explosions taking a lot out of her.]

It's almost like it never ends in this line of work huh?

((OOC- Sure! Once she calms down, she'd be happy to join up.))

[At first Kisume just pushed herself tighter into the hiding spot, whimpering and thinking whoever had found her was bad. After hearing Aqua's voice though, one wide green eye opened and stares for a second. She does speak after a bit, although she'd hurting and fearful.]

What happen? Why danger?

[After that, she hesitantly reaches out and takes the offered hand. It couldn't be worse then being a sitting duck.]

"We're not fully sure. We're going to get everyone to safety first," she said, pulling her out gently, "And then we'll investigate and get it to stop, alright?" she asked.

She held the child to herself, shielding her with her body. She hesitated, then made the smart choice for the child. If the turrets were malicious and manned, this would be dangerous, but as things stood... she stood a chance of moving faster, and less of a chance of getting the kid hurt... flying.

She tucked the child against her chest carefully, shifting to hold her in one arm. She reached around with her other arm and slammed her palm into the jewel at the top of her sleeve.

Her armor snapped into being around them, forming to fit over them, filtering air. She held out her free hand and summoned her Keyblade, then threw it into the air, ordering it to form her glider.

She almost never used the glider. Or the armor. But the kid was the most important thing now. The glider looped then drifted to her. she leaped onto it, holding the controls with only one hand, the armor opening hat hand and feet to allow her skin to glider contact, and once she had that...

she directed the glider it into the air. She was afraid of heights, but she was a Master. She had to master herself in all ways. Even this one.

Flying the glider was difficult, off balance like this but not impossible.

"Almost to safety," she said softly. To the child; and to herself.

[Too late on the 'not make a wreck of the place part' given that Nora redirects her fall energy into launching herself off the wall and straight down the hall above their heads with an explosion that propels her into a mad tumble, and then dash, not wasting her momentum to charge at the nearest... whatever the hell will be firing at them next.]

[The pain is far worse than anything he's experienced in his time, but he does his damndest to focus. He can easily heal if he- No, he quickly pushes that thought as far away as possible. For now he puts pressure on his wound with his free hand.]

I'll be all right. Let us get out of here first.

[Eddie's not far behind Nora once she takes the initiative. His shadow covers his hands, turning them into handy claws. The rest of it is going to remain as insulation because...]

Seriously, it can stop being cold already.

[And one of the turrets gets sliced into pieces.]

[Kisume was tiny and light enough and the fact she curled up once she was picked up probably helped as well. There is a surprised whine when the armor surrounded them. Something the little feral wasn't expecting but she calmed down, holding her hand over where she had gotten hit.

There is something she did get and that was to stay still, trying to keep the trouble she caused down. Already she wasn't doing well on that so it was time to fix it. Although she does speak up again, even injured, Kisume was determined!]

Safe good. Want to help. Can fight.

"Hmmm, then I'd better go ahead. I can get through the door and disable it from the inside. Bridget can you guard the back?"

Bad enough they're having to dismantle or damage the school's security systems; damaging the library doors is counterproductive if people are going to take shelter inside.

"This time, you need to be safe first, and then you can help my team, alright? It isn't fighting, but it's needed. They're inside helping people who are hurt. They're going to help you. Alright?"

She dropped Them to the ground carefully, just by the nearest entrance to where she set her kids up running triage. She took a breath as soon as her feet were on the grass again. She held the Keyblade as it became a Keyblade again, and hurried inside, the armor vanishing as soon as they were clear of the door.

She rushed Kisume to where the team was waiting.

you guys wanna set a tag order? Aqua isn't staying long.

Aqua came to where her team was waiting for triage. She was holding a child in one arm, curled up against her chest, her Keyblade in the other hand. "First one for you guys to help. Once she's up to it, she said she wants to help as well. If she can, please let her. We'll need all the help we can get in here. So long as all of you stay indoors."

Said child opened her eyes and glanced about with wide eyes. She wasn't sure if she knew who all was there or not but at the very least, is was safe here. Kisume nodded her agreement with Aqua's statement about her helping. Of course as she uncurled a bit, her hand didn't leave her side, where she had been shot trying to get away from the chaos but still.

"Can help. Can fight or things."

[Tenma notices the blood on the girl's side, staining her hand and clothing. He bit his lip, wishing he hadn't left his first aid kit in his room.]

Okay, but the doctor has to say okay first...

[He looks directly at Kisume and offers a hand to her free one]

Let's get you bandaged first.

Aqua is taking her leave, si it's for you guys after this point. till she brings in the next kid.

Aqua set her down very gently. "Triage," she said softly, then gave her team a warm smile. "I leave her in your care."

With that, she vanished the keyblade, turned, and headed back out to help more people in need.

[They were greeted by half a dozen laser turrets, which Emma handled readily enough, running right up and literally punching them. The ones that fired at her got their blasts reflected back at them by her diamond skin.]

Forget keeping the place tidy. Martha, the Professor, lives are on the line! Just rip the whole place apart if you have to!

Kagerou unfortunately... wasn't. And each glancing blow slowed her down.

Bridget quickly whipped out one of his combat yoyos, nodding.

"I've got you covered. We gotta move fast!"

It soon ends in Kaguya having to help Kagerou to safety, and at the same time fight down any panic at the wolf-girl's condition now. The lake, for now, looked lightly defended...

[There were a lot of things Fury was prepared for, in coming to the Xavier Institute.]

[Trees turning full-on Lovecraftian was always within the realm of possibility, but quite honestly, even he's a little unnerved. He keeps his cool rather admirably, all the same, as he taps something into the screen of a wrist communicator.]

Tell me someone has that thing under control.
