As one bus heads to Central Park another is heading into District X carrying those who wanted to help Beast and Wolverine look into the illness that was spreading through the district and had also infected Nightcrawler. There were so many questions to answer, how far has it spread? How is it spreading? Where did it start? What are the symptoms thus far? Are they getting worse?

The last two times Liir was in District X there was an attack by the Friends, so he's understandable a little nervous. It's a quiet kind of nervousness though, expressed in his hands being perpetually in his pockets, eyes darting from side to side, but not raising his voice or getting angry.

There's also the chance that he might catch a deadly disease. So there's that.

"Are you going to be alright?" she asked, seeing someone who clearly seemed nervous.

Liir nodded. It was a good thing his nature was phlegmatic, rather than flighty, or he'd be pacing up and down the aisle.

"I'm just remembering that the last two times we were here, the Friends attacked us..."

[Wolverine notices his nerves as they get off the bus and puts his hand on his shoulder]

You ok kid?

[Liir boggles a bit. Is that Wolverine being nice?]

I am. I'm just remembering that the last two times we came out her, the Friends attacked us...Also, I guess my time in the army has made me paranoid.

Suffice it to say, Carlyn had done what research she could before coming into the investigation. Not only was she wearing a cold mask and gloves, but her backpack had some basic disease-spread-prevention tools - hand sanitizers and such. She wasn't that kind of doctor, but a bit of research and careful thinking could save lives. Most certainly, she was going with people today - and probably having them be just as careful.

Krista was, Caryln would find, a little troublingly prone to running off to the aid of anyone nearby who seemed to need anything at the drop of a hat, but she clearly had a lot of energy for what they were doing.

Her wallet was a little lighter as she drifted back towards the group again, looking over at her.

"Where are we going next?"

"We need to hit more of the doctor's offices, first and foremost...", Carlyn observed. "Still no real clues..."

"You certainly look prepared. Do you believe we should be taking the same precautions?" she asked.

Patchy had made sure she was prepared for this too, having brought along pretty much the same kind of stuff in her own backpack.

"You seem prepared, Carlyn."

You came prepared I see. I've got more in the lab I've set up in the clinic if you need it.

[Flik wanted to go to the concert but when it came down to it he couldn't look away from what was happening so he jumped at the opportunity to look into things. As soon as he gets into town he wonders what he should do. He can't run in town, too many people. So he's got to take it slow and follow his teacher's lead rather than do what he wants and bolt around as fast as possible]

She saw the nervous energy and that he was waiting despite it. She gave him a warm smile. He was well on the way to Mastery. Aqua approved.

[Really, Krista doesn't care about the concert they're missing. It's great for her, as a matter of fact -- now everyone can know that she missed all the fun of the concert to go and help the sick. She couldn't have arranged the timing better herself.]

[She's among the first off the bus, and anxious to get started the moment their feet are on the ground.]

I thought maybe we could start from the soup kitchen where we helped earlier. They know a lot of the people here who have the worst healthcare and the greatest risks in their lives, so they might be able to give us some kind of answers...

"A very good idea," Aqua acknowledged. "It is also a gathering place, and given that it is a place where food is served, it is a potential hotbed for the spread of the illness."

[Finally, something they agree on.]

I'll ask the local rats...although I hate owing them favors. And if you can get a piece of hair from someone afflicted...

That's a great idea Krista.

[Beast smiles down at the young girl. If you find anyone showing symptoms send them to the clinic down the street. I'll be setting up a lab there.]

Her students had gone to the concert, and after assuring herself that there would be enough adults there if they needed someone, and that they would be as safe as reasonably possible, Aqua went to lend her assistance to those who were investigating the illness. Perhaps some of her study of the human body that she used when creating her armor and the Keyblade would be of use. She would stay close with Hank, ready to aid as needed.

But she was also available to be approached by other people.

[He's finishing the last bit of work on the clinic lab when he looks up to acknowledge Aqua]

This isn't the best situation is it. Hopefully with a bigger sample we can find what this is.

Alex spent the entire bus ride wondering if he should have just stayed at the school. The concert had been a no-go from the start, far too large a crowd for his liking, but that hadn't meant he had to come help with the District X surveying. Still, he wanted to feel useful, and maybe his powers would help a bit. There were probability factors in diseases, he was fairly certain.

Stepping off the bus, he went to the teachers to collect materials.

"Do we have a map of the whole neighborhood?"

[Wolverine gives him a little smirk as he points over to an information kiosk next to the clinic]

Might try looking over there bub.

"I didn't bring a paper map, but..."

Krista held out her phone, already open to the map application, with a slightly self-deprecating little smile.

Beasts Laboratory

[Beast has set up a small lab inside the small clinic in district X. As citizens are coming in or being brought in he's taking blood and tissue samples trying to get an idea of what is happening. Most of those infected seem to be suffering from flu like symptoms, cough, nausea, and feeling worn down and weak. A few more advanced cases had noticeable lesions on the skin.

He's got a few extra hands on deck helping with the work thanks to students coming along. The more scientific minded are helping him with the science while the rest are comforting the sick as well as bringing more in from outside who are too weak to make it to the clinic.]

[[ooc. - Feel free to have more than one person in a thread, we'll work tag order if we need to. Hank will probably be interjecting every once and a while while he's sciencing.]]

[Good thing Patchouli is scientific minded, this may be something more than one people are going to be needed to work on.

Like Koa, she had come prepared, she has the feeling this might get worse before it gets better...]

Wolverine's Search

[After Wolverine gets off the bus he gives a shout]

All right we've got 2 jobs kids. You either search for people with me or you work the lab with the furball. Those of you searching town we meet outside the clinic every ten minutes, those of you who are good with that science crap should check with him.

[He walks off down the road, making his way off into town.]

[[ooc: Same rules as beast, search together, meet up outside the clinic to take notes and the short scruffy one will regularly be checking in]]
