"... sweeping victories in both the House and Senate. Creed and his fellow Last Stand congressmen celebrated today, eager to begin the new legislation they promised in their collective campaign. Senator Creed enthusiastically exclaimed that the era of letting mutants go unchecked were finally going to come to an end..."

"... calling themselves the 'Mutant Liberation Front', or MLF, the campaign of vandalism and propaganda has been extensive in Europe and has started to appear in the United States and Canada as well. The MLF are most recognized by their tag sign of the double helix, along with the word LIBERATE. Most authorities are not incredibly concerned, as the group has been non-violent so far..."

It seems an interesting word choice. As if they perceive mutants as imprisoned. And then there is the name of their organization. 'Force.' That is a very active word. It implies movement and power, against something else.

[Oh, don't worry, she has plenty of her own.]
niepokonany: (What pumpkin?)

Wow I messed up the HTML on that last one, sorry

[personal profile] niepokonany 2014-11-08 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, honestly? "Liberation Force" is a kinda sketchy combo. Like I think I'd probably be cool with their overall goals, but their tactics look pretty aggro for me.
psykick: (⇒ confused)

[personal profile] psykick 2014-11-09 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Aggro? What does 'aggro' mean?
niepokonany: (Some people juggle geese!)

[personal profile] niepokonany 2014-11-09 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, my bad. It's slang. For, like, "aggressive"?
psykick: (⇒ serious)

[personal profile] psykick 2014-11-10 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

I agree. Their tactics are very aggro. Vandalism is never a good sign.
niepokonany: (I think I'll try defying gravity)

Actually, my uncle in Wrocław did some pretty rad graffiti back in the day, but stuff was different back home in the 80s.

[Understatement!]

There is a very fine line between graffiti and vandalism. I wonder if there is any pattern to where they have placed their mark.
niepokonany: (Choking on your alibis)

[personal profile] niepokonany 2014-11-13 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Just "public", probably? I'd be way more worried about if they've got someone pulling their strings or just a bunch of kinda loose ideals.

You mean like the TransSpecies movement and that Sublime man?
niepokonany: (Who don't believe in sensible rules)

[personal profile] niepokonany 2014-11-13 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, like those creeps, I guess?
psykick: (⇒ worried)

[personal profile] psykick 2014-11-13 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Or they could just be mutants who're frustrated. Because they're so vague, it's hard to know what to think about them.
niepokonany: (She's a young girl talking about herself)

[personal profile] niepokonany 2014-11-13 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, that's probably totally it. But you have to figure out what the sitch is with them anyway, and if they're gonna help or go totally psycho about it...
psykick: (⇒ curious)

[personal profile] psykick 2014-11-13 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Rinka has no idea what a 'sitch' is or how one goes 'psycho', but she gathers the general meaning of the rest of the sentence. Damnit English stop being so difficult.]

I'm not sure how painting symbols on buildings is going to help though. Usually that just annoys people. But from the language they use... I guess we will just have to wait. See what their next move is.

[Feliks: English as a Second Language teacher???]

It's more about awareness, probably, or just lashing out? Kinda depends, we'll see.

If someone's actually in charge of them, though, we could totally find out more, though...

[Or at least a tutor in Common English Slang. They don't teach you that stuff in class.]

If it is lashing out, I understand how they feel. I might not agree with how they express their feelings, but I understand.
niepokonany: (I'm so green it's really amazing)

[personal profile] niepokonany 2014-11-18 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Feliks would do that, if his schedule weren't already a little bit insane. It would be hilarious.]

I mean, it's not like we don't all get it? But that's no reason to be dicks about it.
psykick: (⇒ worried)

[personal profile] psykick 2014-11-21 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes people feel they have no option but... being dicks. I met a few people like that, back home. They joined the yakuza because they couldn't get work anywhere else.

Yeah, which is why social outreach is like, max important and junk?

But seriously.
