Club Week! [OPEN]
WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: Club Week is underway, and now we have booths set up for people to really recruit and get their ideas out there. Several NPC clubs have been set up as well. Plus, once again, if you want to get in on some X-Men team building, now's a great time for it.
WHERE: The school foyer
WHEN: Wednesday after classes
WARNING(S): None. If threads go into warning territory, please make a new post for their continuation
It's about halfway into the second week of school. People are already starting to form friendships, build social circles, and embrace student life on the Xavier campus. The faculty has set up several booths in the foyer after normal classes on Wednesday in order for students to centralize recruiting for their various interest groups. Some familiar names pop up, of course. "Anime Club", "Chess Club", "AV Club", "Soccer Club", "Glee Club", "GSA Club", "Bible Study Club" and others. It's a pretty inclusive school, after all, so why not have a broad representation of interests?
As classes let out, students are encouraged to look around, get involved, and otherwise put forth the foundation of their social lives for the school year. And of course, there's always people looking to put together teams for other purposes, too...

GSD/LGBTQ+ Student Union Sponsor / Helper in all science-y things
At any rate Fai is perched on the side of a table covered in multicolored glitter and a rainbow flag in silk chiffon. You know, suitably tasteful as always. And if you have to talk about his clothes at all, you'd have to do it in terms of side-laced leather pants and a shirt which was probably spray-painted on. Oh, and he has peacock feathers in his hair, which looks white and pearlescent for today.
He also has a huge bowl full of different pins which are free for the taking, with just about any expression of gender, sexuality, personality that anyone can possibly want, along with a number of different mutant pins. Fai has two attached to his shirt, one with "Pan" and one of a stylized Phoenix, which to no one's great surprise has turned into a symbol of mutant defiance in some circles.
Approach him - or just stand still close to the table for long enough - and he'll happily chat your ears off.]

Toph hates glitter]
You better be planning on cleaning all this glitter up!
no subject
But of course I will, my dear. I mean, obviously there's all the glitter that has already gotten caught on people's clothes and spread all over the school, can't do too much about that, but I'll definitely clean here.
no subject
[The main reason she hates glitter. She's not sure if it's bad for dogs but better safe that sorry]
What's the booth for, anyway?
no subject
[He gives her shoulder a light, playful nudge.]
And it's the GSD Student Union. For all the extra colorful mutants here~.
no subject
[Because she only really knows the acronyms used in everyday speech, and she's never heard GSD before]
no subject
...and note how I did not make any off-color joke about mouthfuls here, like a good adult.
no subject
[When Toph is more Adult than you...]
What does GSD stand for? I mean, the other letters make sense but...
no subject
[And it's more fun this way, anyway.]
It's for Gender and Sexual Diversity. That way we won't have to keep adding new letters for every nuance, and we're not leaving anyone out.
no subject
[Seriously]
But why the glitter?

Hey, beautiful! I heard you had accessories, and I came running.
[He laughs; he probably helped out with Fai's preparations, since his own took very little time. Very nearly literally hanging off his neck, he beams up at him.]
Got any good ones for me?
no subject
Honey, I wouldn't be me if I didn't have accessories, right?
[He playfully pinches the tip of Feliks's nose, before pulling the bowl closer.]
There's this one, naturally. ["Fabulous".] And this one, to celebrate the past. ["Born this way."] Oh, wait, and this one is strangely fitting. [He holds up a large, closely worded pin reading, "Gay catholic Polish mutant - Try to say that when you're drunk".]
no subject
You're the best, I knew I could count on you! I want a phoenix one, too, we totally have to match.
It'd be more challenging if we tried to get people to say it in Polish, though.
no subject
Well, of course you need to have a phoenix, it's so very you. [Bright and fierce and forever rising to fight again.] And of course there are these. [He holds up a couple of pins inspired by Feliks' campaigning.]
And honey, would you really like to hear your beautiful mother tongue slaughtered so?
no subject
That's way better. I thought I was feeling a little naked! Guess I didn't have enough flair-- not that that's what people usually whine about.
[He laughs, bumping his forehead against Fai's (which requires a little pulling Fai down.)]
And yeah, it's hilarious! Americans, they act like you're asking them to read, like, some space alien language or some junk! They make the best faces.
no subject
[Fai laughs, pressing his finger onto the table and then transferring the glitter he thereby picked up onto Feliks' cheek.]
There, the finishing touch~. [And then he'll get back to their affectionate nuzzling and of course get glitter all over himself too.]
And well, to be fair, Polish does tend to have letters that people aren't all that used to, you know? But that's their fault for being woefully uninformed, right?
Always relevant: http://textsfromlastnight.com/Text-Replies-14112.html
It's only got like one or two, and some accents! Most of the letters at least look the sameish.
[And half of them sound different. Whatever, haters gonna hate! He smiles up at Fai, bright as anything, because he's Fai and the whole world is better whenever he's around.]
And thank God we have you here to like, make sure people don't see me like that! What would I do without you, gorgeous?
fai is certainly faishionable
But walking by this booth, he has to stop and stare a little -- and then sneeze because some of the glitter is floating in the air and got up his nose.
The problem with him sneezing, though, is that his mutation allows him to control air to an extent, and he doesn't always have it under full control, so his sneeze? It winds up creating rather more of a breeze than intended. And that glitter? It goes everywhere --
-- much to his dismay because he sneezes again, making it worse and also preventing him from voicing any sort of complaint about the glitter. ]
Faibulous, even
[Fai rushes forward with a rueful laugh, and apparently he doesn't come completely unprepared, since he has a spray bottle with water with him. It seems to clear the glitter out of the air at least somewhat, although some motes still linger here and there.]
So sorry about this - I had a little mixup and accidentally used body glitter instead of the heavier stuff. [He squints at the air, sighing.] I'm going to have to ask Hijikata to clear the particles out of the air again, and he's going to give me a look.
[Oh, wait, is he rambling?] Are you alright?
faintastic
I'm fine. [ But he's giving Fai a very sour look all the same. ]
Why [ sniff ] even use glitter at all?
no subject
For the moment, she is simply looking around, but can be talked to...]
no subject
[Fai has this tendency of starting conversations as if he is already in the middle of one and had only lost his thread of thought for a moment. By this point in the day, he's pretty covered in glitter himself, and someone has not-entirely-expertly but with obvious effort braided colored beads into his hair.]
-if you haven't at this point vaguely promised to join at least seven clubs, at the very least half of which you're absolutely not considering joining...
...well, you're probably just better at saying no than I ever was.
[He laughs, shrugging. Was there a point? Oh, wait:] Are you enjoying the week so far?
no subject
...Uh, yes. I have.
[Somewhat distractedly, she picks up one of the buttons with the word 'bisexual' emblazoned on it.]
no subject
Now he tilts a little bit to the side to see what she picked up, and smiles.]
We also have bi flag ones, if one wishes to be more discreet, and "Equal opportunities employer" ones, if one wishes to be witty.
no subject
...Maybe I'll get this one and the flag one?
