Club Week! [OPEN]
WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: Club Week is underway, and now we have booths set up for people to really recruit and get their ideas out there. Several NPC clubs have been set up as well. Plus, once again, if you want to get in on some X-Men team building, now's a great time for it.
WHERE: The school foyer
WHEN: Wednesday after classes
WARNING(S): None. If threads go into warning territory, please make a new post for their continuation
It's about halfway into the second week of school. People are already starting to form friendships, build social circles, and embrace student life on the Xavier campus. The faculty has set up several booths in the foyer after normal classes on Wednesday in order for students to centralize recruiting for their various interest groups. Some familiar names pop up, of course. "Anime Club", "Chess Club", "AV Club", "Soccer Club", "Glee Club", "GSA Club", "Bible Study Club" and others. It's a pretty inclusive school, after all, so why not have a broad representation of interests?
As classes let out, students are encouraged to look around, get involved, and otherwise put forth the foundation of their social lives for the school year. And of course, there's always people looking to put together teams for other purposes, too...
[[ ooc: Feel free to make top levels for your own groups, or just post open top levels with no specific group in mind ]]

Well, even if Giselle were a judgmental person, she's the last person who can judge someone over having powers issues. Hers have caused spontaneous musicals.]
How are you finding things at the school so far?
no subject
It is... different. That's part of the reason why I started this in the first place.
[She tries to smile at Giselle, but it's slightly uncomfortable simply due to the fact that she is sharing personal feelings.]
no subject
Well, everyone is very nice here and the experienced X-men are very capable. Professor Xavier in particular is extremely knowledgeable about a broad range of powers - not only in how to control them but in all the possibilities they have.
[Her smile by contrast is warm and at ease. She's hoping she'll be able to help Elsa feel more comfortable and reassured over time. It seems like she could use a bit of extra encouragement - and Giselle doesn't need to try reading her mind to tell. There is no country other than Genosha where being a mutant is fully embraced and celebrated. And it can't be easy to have come to a new country.]
I'm still working on mine, but my control has improved a lot thanks to guidance from the teachers here.
no subject
Yes. I am very eager to learn more about my powers. ["And control them," she doesn't say, because part of her is still uncomfortable with sharing the fact that she can't control them. Giselle is entirely correct in that the combination of unstable powers and new environment has left Elsa a little bit flustered; after the unexpected flood of applicants for the FSU, it's only gotten worse.]
If I may ask, what do you specialize in?
no subject
[Yet, anyway. She's positive she'll be able to do it one day, but some aspects of her powers come more naturally to her than others.]
What about you, Elsa?
no subject
[Elsa looks away from Giselle. That's... all she plans to say, apparently. Her powers are still kind of a mystery to her.]
no subject
[There's a short pause as Giselle realizes her minor mistake.]
...pardon the unintentional pun. I believe the X-men have worked with a powerset similar to yours before, though. I'm sure Professor Xavier can give you some guidance.
no subject
[She's... she's tried to speak with him, but not very hard, admittedly. A part of her is afraid to even talk to him, even though rational thinking told her that he was basically the best resource a young mutant could have. There had to be lots of young mutants who wanted to speak to him; her problem wasn't that important, they should go.]
no subject
Hmm...you know, with your powers, you could probably get some great advice from Ms. Munroe, too. She has power over the weather. She may be more reachable.
no subject
[She smiles at Giselle, genuinely thankful.]
no subject
[Giselle kind of has to get her primary help from Professor Xavier simply because hers are psychic. Luckily, the meditation exercises her mother taught her have helped for keeping out of people's minds unless she actually wants to read them. Which is fairly rare. Handy for gift suggestions that people are too embarrassed to admit that they want, though.]
If you ever want to meet up and go shopping or just spend time together, I'm on the first floor of the girls' dormitories, room number three.
no subject
I would love to do that sometime.
[The mun would love to do that sometime, too.]
no subject
[Don't mind her. She's already making plans to help Elsa accessorize.]
(ooc: I can set up a log sometime if you'd like?)
