[Zian is quiet for a moment and then nods slightly.]

...yeah. [There's another pause.] I just don't get what makes people want to do things like this. It's not just picking on mutants, it's picking on mutants in need, that are hungry and freezing...

[Sigh.]

It just boggles my mind a that some people lack that much compassion.

They lack the restraint or intelligence to suppress their animal instincts. [ His tone is uncharacteristically bitter. ]

Einstein once said that there are only two things that are infinite in this world. One is the size of the universe, the other is the stupidity of the human race.

Well, I have to agree with that. It's enough to make you cynical and bitter.

[He sighs again.]

All these things that are going on now is seriously making me worry.

It's what happens when you put idiots in power.

I have no more family to be worried about, but innocents are definitely at risk.

Yeah... though it wouldn't surprise me if good people in power would just be smeared and sabotaged as much as possible. Like with a president and congress.

[He shrugs a bit. Politics wasn't really his thing.]

It's nice that kids here are at least somewhat safer, but they're just a tiny amount of what's out there.

[ The doctor shakes his head slightly. ]

Children don't deserve to pay for other people's stupidity. It's terrible, isn't it? Evil only spawns more evil, and it grows like cancer. Worse, even justice and goodness cannot excise it anymore.

[ And as all doctors know, when the tumour has metastasized to too many organs... there is no hope for salvation. Only death remains.]

[The poor medic's shoulders sag and he nods a little. Now he was just epically bummed out.]

It's just crazy.

I just... feel so powerless, you know? We should be out there doing something, and yet - we can't.

...we can keep doing what we're doing and keep the kids healthy. That's at least something.

I just pray that they will be safe, be able to find people who can help them.

[ It's like being able to see a patient he can't save. ]
