His reasonable reaction is kind of a surprise. But Eren knows that not everyone here is completely impossible to talk to. He nods, his expression severe.

"Yes. That's what I think. That it's inevitable now. Just look at the news. And if it doesn't happen now, it's going to happen sooner or later."

Souji nods slowly as well, remembering what Hijikata had told him about the event when Souji had (supposedly) lost his memory and been sent forward in time - about Project Wideawake, when the night had come alive with terror.

"I suppose you're right," he agrees. It really makes a lot of sense to him. Even if he can't remember that attack, he can remember doing nothing but frightening ordinary humans all of his life. Sooner or later, he supposed that something has to give. "It's a shame, though. I mean, everyone is going to try to protect the things they care about, right? So there won't just be two sides, only humans fighting mutants. There will be so many stakes and standpoints, we're probably all going to turn on each other." He shakes his head with a sigh, but still looks quite serene. Fighting is what he's made to do, after all. "I know I wouldn't want to hurt ordinary humans even more than I have already. But I'll do what I must."
