[Bigby doesn't care much for what he still basically considers 'human news' (i.e. any news that doesn't and/or shouldn't directly involve him) but he has been noticing a lot of dampened, saddened scents and it's led to him casting his ears around for snippets of TV reports.

But all that quiet investigation eventually leads to him running across Christelle's scent, smelling tense. Well, he tells himself he doesn't really care. But here he comes anyway to sneak over to her and announce himself with the sound of a cigarette being lit.]

Something bothering you?

[He has a few guesses as to what could, but it's her move what they discuss in particular.]

[that's some pretty loud pretending going on there]

[Gosh, Bigby, are you trying to get a knife in your eye?

Chris catches the knife by the blade before glancing over to him, outwardly calm though with his sense of smell he'd have noticed the brief flare up of tension with surprise at being snuck up on. She must really have been lost in her thoughts.]

Nothing out of the ordinary. [She calmly hitches her skirt up to bare one thigh, sheathing the knife in her garter.]

[he needs something to do with his fairy tale imagination.]

[Admittedly he didn't think that part out as well as he should have. But at the very least he hasn't gotten stabbed yet.

His eyes follow her hand and stay locked to her legs longer than they should, but he covers it smoothly by sharply looking away and taking a rough drag from his cigarette. Ah yes, no one would suspect that Chris is his type. Good job, Biggles.]

Your scent says otherwise. [He comments bluntly, mostly to see where it leads him.]

When you accidentally see someone naked in the shower, what do you do?

[This gets her an odd look. But he thinks it over for a bit.]

Apologize and give them privacy. [He frowns at her.] But I was hoping in this situation I could give you some comfort.

[She fixes him with a quizzical look, as if he's some odd little creature she's seeing for the first time. After a moment though, her lips quirk in a small smile and she shakes her head, blowing smoke rings.]

You're a strange man.

[He perks up a bit; he can tell he's at least had a positive effect.]

So I've been told. [He gives her a crooked smirk.]

[The smile grows to her usual smirk and she sends a stream of smoke at him.] You'd be better off turning your attention to the students. They seemed shaken up.

What, and you don't? [He shrugs.] I'll check on a few of them. But I'm honestly more worried about people I'm close to.

[A long pause. He covers it up by suddenly becoming very interested in his cigarette and the spirals of smoke seeping out of it.]

[Again comes that Look, much more quickly followed by amusement as she finally turns more towards him, a coy lilt entering her voice as she asks 'innocently':] Were you worried about me~?

[Nope, nope, he's definitely more interested in his cigarette.

....He's turning red.]

[seduceme]

[She now sounds both amused and surprised:] You're blushing.

It's hot out.

[No it's not, Bigby, not even remotely.]

Is it? I 'adn't noticed. [She slowly gets to her feet, turning to face him.]

[He pointedly looks away and drops his cigarette t o crush it under his foot.]

Look, I... was only looking for you to bring you this. [He meekly offers a black box that, if opened, contains a neatly folded pair of stockings. Bought from Walmart, but at least he put in some effort to mask that.] Of course I got worried, I haven't smelled that much tension on you before.

[She just absently answers-] That's because you've been paying more attention to my scent lately. [-clearly more focused on checking the contents of the box. She can immediately tell these aren't the kind she'd normally buy (she's the sort to import the finest quality from Paris of all places-), but she's also immediately imagining Bigby of all people going through the stockings often decorated with the shapely rears and thighs of the models to get these.

Lips quivering with the effort not to grin, she calmly shuts the box and glances up at him again.] Merci beaucoup.

[Bigby's face turned just a shade redder, and he's very quick to light himself a new cigarette. Almost as if he's trying to create a shield of smoke-smell.] I wouldn't say that. [Mostly because he's being defensive.]

You probably know which brand of shampoo I use by now. [Chuckles to herself, tucking the box carefully into the crook of her arm. It would be interesting to know if he'd be able to track her by smell if she were on a mission, deliberately using standard soap used in just about every hotel, no perfumes or body lotions to create anything definable.]

I don't pay attention to specifics like that. [He frowns.] Anyway, it's not the scent of the products I track.

[Backtrack. Rewind. What the hell did he just say. He grimaces and looks away to concentrate on smoking up his shield.]

Oh? [Smirk growing into something dangerously close to a grin now as she steps closer.] What scent is it then, Mr. Wolf?

[...Aaand she is too close for him to just concentrate on the smoke. He's become rather bashful, trying not to look at her but he's still too honest for his own good.]

Not roses. [He lowers the hand holding his cigarette as he crosses his arms.] There's a scent under that that's specifically yours. You smell like... [He grimaces.] You smell like Snow.

I wasn't aware snow 'ad a scent.

No, I mean you... I does, but that's not the point. [He shifts his weight uncomfortably.] You smell like the woman I have... feelings for. Her name is Snow.

[Yes, Snow White, the same Snow White that is the deputy mayor of District X. Bigby aims big.]

[The same Snow White with whom in another life he might have had far too many children with?]

Ah, that one. [Her head tilts a bit as she considers this new information. She's not entirely sure how to feel about reminding him of his secretly coveted woman.] Describe it to me. The smell.

[Well, he's gotten this far up shit creek, he's not getting out any time soon anyway. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, trying to come up with a good way to describe it.]

I'm not sure. It's... good. Warm. Inviting. It doesn't smell like anything in particular, it's just.... [Dear god this is embarrassing.] It- you smell like home. A... potential home.

[Can the ground please open up and swallow him whole. That would be nice. He can't even look at her anymore, and his face is glowing red.]
