Christelle just intends to pass by Hijikata's classroom without coming in, just glancing through the door to see what's what. When she sees all the writing, she pauses and steps in to take a look at the boards more closely. "... You can't solve everything," she comments at last.

He doesn't look at her. There's no need to, is there? A hand runs through his hair as he looks his writing over. How long has he been in here, again?

"Who's trying to?" He just wants to understand -- that's his excuse for it, anyway, when people make a damn fuss.

"No one goes into this much detail unless they're trying to solve a puzzle," she shrugs, leaning back on one of the desks. "You'll go grey early if you keep this up."

Hijikata simply hums, eyes still flickering over the wealth of information he's amassed.

"Souji always said I'll get wrinkles."

Hasn't happened yet, despite his warnings.

"You probably will, and then you'll look like a creepy old man when taking 'im out on dates."

"No one's taking any students on any dates."

Well, at least she's distracted him from his obsessive plotting?

"But what about during the 'olidays? You aren't a teacher then and students are simply young people intent on forgetting every bit of education they received in the preceding months."

If it wouldn't be so damn incriminating, he'd simply have tell her to drop it. As it stands, he has to be more careful about this.

"I didn't think you'd mistaken me for the dating type."

"You aren't. At least, not unless it pertains to a certain young man with beautiful long 'air and a penchant for sweets," she answers nonchalantly. "You certainly wouldn't put up with tickling and being dragged about by anyone else."

"You aren't familiar with the situation."

He runs a hand through his hair, trying to think of a... non-damning way to put it.

"I've known Souji longer than anyone here."

"That much is evident, even if 'e 'as been planted with false memories."

"I've done a lot of looking after him over the years. That's all."

"And it developed into much more," she answered wryly. "Mon cher, at least extend to me the courtesy of not implying I am blind when my profession required 'oned observation skills."

Standing and approaching one of the data-filled boards, she then asked absently, "You were lovers before 'e forgot you, ouis?"

He's not certain how to handle this. He could say that Souji's like a brother to him, but that could backfire terribly. He could simply insist that she's wrong, but it seems both undignified and ineffective when she already knows he's lying.

"Just leave it be."

"Mm," came the noncommittal hum as she kept her gaze on the boards. She'd comment on how fatalistic he seems determined to be, but she's also noticing that far too many people at the school (students and faculty alike) have a habit of being so.

Mentally shrugging, she steps away from the boards and heads for the door, commenting over her shoulder, "I still think you should take 'im out on a date, but if you ever need a temporary 'copy' for old times' sake, you know where to find me."

It's not like Hijikata's giving up. He's just... practical. He doesn't want to take advantage of Souji's trust while he's in a vulnerable position and a high school student, so he'll just... have to wait again. And not pressure him. Ever.

"I'll keep it in mind."

The horrible thing is that he thinks he just might.

"I won't judge."

Outwardly, at least. Inwardly, she'll just judge him a little bit.

With that lovely offer, she sidles off to find some other poor soul to bother. And maybe to place an order for a lovely kimono that she knows the perfect model for...
