-ice? Why was he giving her ice?
Oh, right, Liir hit the deck. That was kind of important, wasn't it.
Her grumbles died down to indistinct muttering as she reached under Liir's arms to get him off of the ground.
"The hell happened to you?" Kaede's voice was quieter, but still just as tense. No need to attract more attention than they already did.

When he was done calling for help, he stopped running, and he hunched over gasping.
"Damit!" Viti said aloud to no one. "Liir was my best hope for combating the virus."
Viti took a moment to catch his breath, leaning against a wall for support. His heart beat started to slow, but then he had a horrible thought. His eyes bulged the color drained from his face, and his heart pounded again. He suddenly started pacing anxiously, for he had realized he did something foolish. Very foolish.
"Maybe the virus isn't that contagious," He told himself.
His heart rate only beat faster. He knew there was a reason Liir and others had the disease (or at least he felt sure he did)
"Maybe the district X virus is like many viruses. It's at its most contagious when there are no overt symptoms. Maybe Liir knew that so he had that mask on until symptoms showed."
Viti kept pacing and kept rationalizing.
"I was pretty far away from Liir. Unless that virus spreads like the measles I should be safe. I man most pathogens don't spread like the measles virus." Viti sighed. His stomach turned, with anxiety, but he realized he could not deny the frightening possibility. He lifted up his smart phone, and with cold sweat forming on his forehead, he dialed the number.
"Hello? I think I might need to be quarantined."

"Could you get his other arm?"
She was already lifting Liir up to her shoulder; she could just carry him all on her own, but she didn't want to expend more energy than she had to. Not now.

Viti took a breather, but his eyes bulged one more time when he remembered something important.
"Zancrow!"
Viti ran back, pounding the floor with his sprint, and pounding his chest with his heart. Still far away, but within sight Viti stopped, and his jaw dropped.
"Zancrow! No!!" Viti's body quivered as he reflexively reached out. Viti's mouth was gaping, his eyes blood shot.
"...the virus...District X...Liir..." Viti collapsed to his knees, for after months of work, and arguing, and struggle, he was certain that he was seeing the one life he thought he saved slip away.
His mind was braking, his world crumbling, for a few seconds he was silent, then one last scream to the sky.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" Viti gripped his hair as his now empty eyes pointed to the light above. Finally, his arms and his head fell.
(ooc: I wonder what Viti's thoughts look like now.)

His eyes open to a squint as he feels himself carried away. Someone is being very loud and it's not doing his head any favors.
"What is the Wizard-fucking racket about?" He quietly croaked. Just an ordinary quasi-public fainting here, no need to make a big deal about it.
no subject
"To the infirmary?" he asked Kaede. He then looked down at Liir. "Viti's being weird," he said quietly.
no subject
"Before my head explodes," she muttered to Zancrow between grit teeth, covering one eye with her somewhat free hand in an attempt to block out some of the noisy thought-colors. She didn't snap at anyone to shut up--there were enough loud noises.

The 13 year old boy hated everything at that moment, so much so that he thought just running away, saving his own life to be away from others that didn't seem to want to live, but then a fact, arrived in Viti's head. Viti looked up and saw movement.
Viti was too far away to hear Liir's words, but he saw lips moving. He considered, but when he saw that Zancrow and Kaede were leaving with him, he knew his window was closing.
He quick grabbed piece of paper, wrote something, and griped it in his palm.
Viti rose. He marched, he picked up pace to a jog. He knew that Kaede and Zancrow were so vicious they might as well have been two lions guarding a cub, but humanity was at stake.
When he close enough he threw the piece or paper and said,
"Someone in the team has brought the virus back from district X. If not you then someone else. If everything falls apart your power might be our last resort!"
Viti hears the foot steps of the emergency workers he called, and he sees that Kaede is stressed and might be prone to do something drastic.
"I have to go explain! Call me if you can!"
Viti retreats, running to explain why he doesn't need to be quarantined after all, and running not to be torn apart.
(ooc note: Viti out.)

"My power? I can only...Only see the past. Not change it. Don't think I can talk to a virus either. What would we even talk about?" He chuckled weakly. "He's right though. Could give it to you. You should be wearing a suit."
no subject
"Don't worry about it," he told Liir. "We'll get checked out after we get you there."
no subject
"I might say sorry if I sneeze on you," Kaede added, semi-helpfully.
The thought of being exposed hadn't fully occurred to her until now; it made her feel...well, she wasn't sure exactly. Nervous, frightened, angry, disgusted--none really fit. She just seemed grumpier than usual.
Which was, well, usual.
"How inconvenient."
no subject
"Sorry."
He slumped awkwardly into their support.

Two more vectors appeared, clasping Liir's shoulders like hands to keep him from falling backwards while her physical arms did most of the work in transferring him to Zancrow. There were still a few stabs of fearful colors in her vision, but not so many now.
no subject
"Try'nto...not let my sec'ndary power...activate. Sorry if I...see something I shouldn't."
FFS Liir, quit apologizing.
no subject
"What's his secondary power?" he asked Kaede.
no subject
"He'll see things you remember if he gets your hair stuck to him."
Her explanation was much more brief than Liir's own had been. She wasn't too worried, though...well, maybe a little. Kaede tended to shed absolutely everywhere all the time, but he'd never confronted her about anything in her memories before. Hopefully it would stay that way.
Her memories weren't nice ones to have.

"Well, looks like we don't have to worry about that right now." He looked over to Kaede. "Which way to the infrimary? I haven't been there yet."
wow self way to letters
Re: wow self way to letters
"We should be tested or whatever." He frowned down at Liir. "Whatever he's got doesn't look fun."
