Club Week! [OPEN]
WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: Club Week is underway, and now we have booths set up for people to really recruit and get their ideas out there. Several NPC clubs have been set up as well. Plus, once again, if you want to get in on some X-Men team building, now's a great time for it.
WHERE: The school foyer
WHEN: Wednesday after classes
WARNING(S): None. If threads go into warning territory, please make a new post for their continuation
It's about halfway into the second week of school. People are already starting to form friendships, build social circles, and embrace student life on the Xavier campus. The faculty has set up several booths in the foyer after normal classes on Wednesday in order for students to centralize recruiting for their various interest groups. Some familiar names pop up, of course. "Anime Club", "Chess Club", "AV Club", "Soccer Club", "Glee Club", "GSA Club", "Bible Study Club" and others. It's a pretty inclusive school, after all, so why not have a broad representation of interests?
As classes let out, students are encouraged to look around, get involved, and otherwise put forth the foundation of their social lives for the school year. And of course, there's always people looking to put together teams for other purposes, too...
[[ ooc: Feel free to make top levels for your own groups, or just post open top levels with no specific group in mind ]]

FOREIGN STUDENTS' UNION
[Oh, goodness... no one's coming. She can feel it.]
no subject
Oh, it's her.
"Hello, Elsa."
Wait, did he ever even talk to her via voice chat, much less by video? He feels even more foolish than he did a moment ago.
"...It's me. Liir Ko."
no subject
She remembers you! You're the boy with the animalspeak! ...Alright, time to make small talk. Er...
"Have you joined any clubs yet?"

Good afternoon, Elsa. How is it going?
[ He says this evenly, with a gentle smile. It feels a little to be so informal (compared to his native land), but culture is different here. It doesn't exactly help that he looks as old as the college students, either. ]
hola
[Thank goodness Takakage, at least, is here. Having a teacher totally gives the club more credibility, right?
And it also makes Elsa feel a little less like she's floundering around in the dark.]There have not been many applicants so far, but it's still early.
i realized i missed out a word from my tag, i am so sorry

Re: FOREIGN STUDENTS' UNION
Really, he's just extremely ambivalent about that one table. The last time he met Elsa, he definitely let his enthusiasm
run completely amokget the better of him (something he'd promised himself he'd not do, but being stiff-backed and formal around American teenagers feels so out of placebut excuses, excuses); conversely, she looks terrible lonely without people coming; conversely again, there are at least a couple of people who show interest, so there's not so much pressure; but conversely again, as a fellow monarch, even if she didn't particularly want him to get involved, it would be something of an insult to show no interest at all, considering the theme of her project. He can only grimace slightly, realizing there are telepaths around here, so circling the room and looking friendly but slightly aloof isn't really as useful a skill as it would be at court.
Balls.
Okay, okay. Eventually, he makes his way over to the FSU table, and offers a well-practiced amiable but restrained, formal smile.
"Ah, good day..."
He really should have sorted out whether she wanted to be addressed formally or by first name alone or what by this point, but that first meeting had imploded a little more spectacularly than he'd been prepared for. He continues in a slightly hushed tone.
"...erh... my apologies, I.. failed to ascertain whether you'd prefer to be addressed... formally"--he was perhaps about to say 'properly'--"or.. in more American fashion. ...but, ah, I had come, actually, to express interest in this organization you're establishing."
Now he just has to cut off that instinct to offer to jump in and help... somehow-or-other.

Elsa shifts a little bit in her seat as Alric approaches, but gives him the same highly regal and practiced smile she gives everyone else. "American fashion will do fine," she says. "We are, after all, in America." Not to mention, she really didn't want anyone to walk around calling her 'Majesty'; she doesn't think she's that majestic, really.
She nods at his second statement and passes him a piece of paper. "Write your name here and I will put you on the mailing list." She doesn't know exactly when the first meeting will be, but it will be a thing that happens soon.

She stops at Elsa's booth, letting Bender sniff around the edge]
What's this one?
no subject
A proposed Foreign Students' Union. A sort of support group and meeting place for students who come from outside of the US.

[Also on the list of blessings Elsa can count is that, while he's not the most even-tempered when challenged, Feliks doesn't really hold grudges unless there's an extremely compelling reason to. He almost seems to not notice that she's someone he's talked to before.]
We like, have a union now?
[It's not an idea that's ever struck him as necessary, but he doesn't sound like he's really knocking it, either.]
no subject
We do. Are you interested?
[As far as she knows, 'unions' are basically clubs anyway, people who gather together and share a common trait or occupation. She doesn't quite know about the issue of workers' unions who are fighting for rights.]

And she's pausing to glance over the table with a smile before asking:] 'ave you considered 'osting language exchange sessions?
no subject
Well, we were planning to have English writing and speaking help, but we could absolutely expand to sharing other languages.

Perhaps it was the prospect that he would no longer feel like the only one having a lot of difficulty in this country. Or maybe it was the girl whose nervousness came off in waves despite her poker face when he really got a look at her.
That was a very nice blanket though.]
