Club Week! [OPEN]
WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: Club Week is underway, and now we have booths set up for people to really recruit and get their ideas out there. Several NPC clubs have been set up as well. Plus, once again, if you want to get in on some X-Men team building, now's a great time for it.
WHERE: The school foyer
WHEN: Wednesday after classes
WARNING(S): None. If threads go into warning territory, please make a new post for their continuation
It's about halfway into the second week of school. People are already starting to form friendships, build social circles, and embrace student life on the Xavier campus. The faculty has set up several booths in the foyer after normal classes on Wednesday in order for students to centralize recruiting for their various interest groups. Some familiar names pop up, of course. "Anime Club", "Chess Club", "AV Club", "Soccer Club", "Glee Club", "GSA Club", "Bible Study Club" and others. It's a pretty inclusive school, after all, so why not have a broad representation of interests?
As classes let out, students are encouraged to look around, get involved, and otherwise put forth the foundation of their social lives for the school year. And of course, there's always people looking to put together teams for other purposes, too...
[[ ooc: Feel free to make top levels for your own groups, or just post open top levels with no specific group in mind ]]

Perhaps even more than that, Feliks has never seen that his taste in clothes or romantic interests is a personal matter to keep quiet. Everyone wears clothes, and lots of them wear skirts. Why shouldn't he? There's nothing indecent about skirts. Lots of girls talk about boys, and lots of boys talk about girls, so why shouldn't he talk about boys, or hold one's hand if he's ever dating one (un-goddamned-likely at this rate, but that's neither here nor there)?
So it's without any hint of shyness or shame that he smiles at the new student, putting out a hand to shake. His nails are the same color as his tights.
"Oh, you're like, the guy in the room next to mine, right? Feliks Ćukasiewicz!"
As to the costumes... "I mean, those could totally use a redesign, too. Maybe we could think about that! I'm pretty sure the Professor's been designing them, and like, he's way smart and all, but they're kind of a fashion crime. The main point of the club is just dressing up and having fun, though!"
no subject
"..ah.. yes, I suppose that's right. A unique pleasure, I'm sure, Mr. Lukasiewicz."
Although obviously non-native, he swings the Polish name without that much difficulty--but, again, European.
"You might find some... traditional constraints on the avant-garde extents of fashion others will find acceptable, of course... but I certainly am curious to see what you might have in mind. I've always been rather fond of the tasteful integration of the innovative and the traditional, myself."
no subject
He gives a flash of a smile, swinging his legs lazily.
"I could, and it'd probably be pretty funny to see people's faces, but who wants people cramping their style?
"Anyway, I wasn't thinking anything too drastic for the uniforms, it's just that the yellow has kinda got to go."
no subject
"...ah... yes, I admit, yellow isn't generally my favorite color, either... although... if it's not prying, might I ask, what do you mean when you say that you 'could'...?"
no subject
He looks Alric up and down, but ultimately decides to play nice and demonstrate less directly than he could. He turns the sad little plastic chair by the table into a squishy armchair, and flops into it sideways, his legs clearly supported by an arm that shouldn't actually be there if it were just an illusion.
"I mean I could just decide they're wearing something different. For a bit, you know?"
no subject
"...well... ...some... kind of material control, I suppose..? That is impressive."
no subject
"I'm basically like Cinderella's fairy godmother. Like, I need something to work with and all, and it'll wear off way before midnight if I space out or I'm not looking, but I can just sort of... change things up, for a while?"
Of course, it has more practical applications than fashion and home decor. He's been known to pull things like turning thrown weapons into harmless junk, or turning a pocket can of hair spray into mace.
no subject
He laughs lightly, scratching at the back of his head.
"...any change? Water to wine, lead to gold, and so on? ..ah, pardon me if I'm wandering from the topic of costumes, but it seems an extremely versatile ability, and I can't help wonder about how it works. Until coming here'd I'd... really been exposed only to my own, and whatever was in the news."
no subject
"I mean, there's some limits? It's all temporary, like I said. I could do water to wine, but I lose power over stuff I can't see or don't know where it is? So once it gets swallowed, it'd go back, it couldn't get anyone drunk.
"Lead to gold would be a cinch, but like, once I got out of the pawn shop, I'd have to run like Hell. But, like, it's kinda a useful power if someone comes after you with a weapon! Or if, say, you've got hair pins in your back and need professional lock picks, or anything like that."
no subject
"...hmm. Interesting. ...all right, if I may, I can't help but wondering... you mentioned weapons, so if you changed, say... the steel of a knife to water, when it reverts, does it change back into a knife, or a puddle of steel? Or, a more extreme case, if you changed something into, say, an explosive, and set it off, would it change back into whatever it originally was? Would any damage it had done disappear?"
...he pauses briefly and chuckles a little, holding his hands up sheepishly.
"I apologize, as I might have mentioned, I'm still adapting to all these abilities everyone else has... I've explored my own, a little, but I can't help but be curious about all these things I've, quit honestly, never even considered before..."
no subject
He seems happy enough to talk about it, so perhaps the apology isn't necessary. Twirling his hair around his finger, Feliks thinks about how to answer his questions.
"And like, I guess things are still kind of affected when it goes back? Any damage that was real stays, I guess is the deal. Like one time, there was this kidnapping? And they tried to restrain my hands? But I just kind of turned it to tissue paper and ripped it, so it didn't work. Or if I make a spoon into a knife and cut something, the thing's still cut after it goes back. If the thing I changed gets damaged while it's changed, it's usually damaged when it goes back, too? Except if it's pretty tough!
"So? What's your deal?"
no subject
"Fascinating... ...ah- oh, mine..? Ah... 'plasma control,' I suppose, is what you'd call it. I'd demonstrate, but it might be a little flashy for a crowded room."
He grins a bit, sheepishly, glancing aside.
"...in priciple, I can make it into any shape I could imagine, but it takes some concentration to make anything but a simple shape--a sphere, a rod, that sort of thing. ..ah.. or simply an aura, or a jet."
no subject
"So like, what can it do? The plasma stuff. Like if I touched it, would it hurt?"
no subject
He pauses a moment in thought... then smirks, slightly, recalling a prior conversation. He's a little reluctant to make the comparison--it seems a bit self-aggrandizing, in a funny way--but it's probably better than demonstrating in a crowded room.
"...you are, ah... familiar, perhaps, with the Star Wars movies..?"
no subject
He gives him a little half-grin.
"I mean, I wasn't born in a cave, right?"
no subject
Alric smirks back, at that, just a little.
"..but, ah.. it's rather like the lightsabers, I suppose. Very, very high temperature, many times hotter than the surface of the sun. ...as I said, best not to demonstrate in a busy room."
He smiles a bit contritely, at that.
no subject
"That sounds kind of cool! Like, I have a friend who used to go here who'd be super interested in seeing it. He used to drive the kendo teacher totally crazy pretending to be a Jedi.
"So you have to show me, some other time!"
no subject
"Ah... certainly, if you like, when the opportunity presents, Mr. Lukasiewicz."
no subject
"So! Since you're here, do you like, want a demonstration of mine?"
no subject
no subject
Both in the sense that he himself sticks out like a sore thumb, and the sense that his words, actions, and ideas all tend to be rather... unusual, and at times extreme, by all accounts.
He'll give it a try, though! Still sitting up straight, he tilts his head, regards Alric for a moment, then, considering the reference he just made, goes for tight brown pants, a black top, and a slightly stylized tan jacket, on a whim. He waves him towards the mirror.
"How's that?"
no subject
Although he's alarmed, very briefly, at his clothes changing and moving, he sort of expected Feliks might try something like that, and mostly maintains his composure. He glances toward the mirror, though, and chuckles, turning a bit to check it out.
"...well, a little early for Halloween, I believe, but not too bad. ...I suppose Jedi robes would carry a more flattering connotation, but perhaps this comparison's more appropriate."
no subject
"Maybe? I just thought this'd be more fun to do than the robes. They're way too simple, you know?"
no subject
He's maybe thought about this a little too much already, but he's literally a knight who makes lightsaber blades, you can't really blame him.
no subject
No, seriously. There are a lot. At least the vow of celibacy wouldn't be too hard at this rate?
