For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

I'm still a teenager so questions are allowed. I haven't even decided what I want to do in college yet.

A year, yes. What do you plan on doing after school?

I shall be an X-Man. [Or dead. That was a possibility, too.]

I'd like to do that and go to college. If I'm good enough at my studies, I don't see why I can't do both.

Given that you are not suited for solo missions, you should have time for both.

That's true. I hope we can work together someday.

Perhaps. I am certain you will be placed with those who will benefit most from your presence.

Or maybe I'll be placed with people I consider friends.

That makes little sense from a tactical stance.

Why's that? Stronger bonds mean people will fight harder.

Whereas that is correct, when putting together a group to work together, there is more to be considered than just who gets along the best. If there is not a proper balance of abilities and specializations, individual members could be placed at unacceptable risks and the effectiveness of the team as a whole could be lacking.

You don't think friendship will overcome those kinds of obstacles?
