For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

[[ ooc: This is the general mingling post for all of our characters to get settled into their rooms, get to know each other, reminisce with old friends, all that jazz. The log will be split into multiple locations. ]]

"No way!" He jumps up to stare at her even closer, then flops back down on the chair again with a pleased smile. Got it. "You're that mutant who got disqualified for cheating! I looked up the video on youtube! That was totally unfair, dude."

"My name's Beast Boy! It is so cool to meet you!" He holds out his hand to shake.

She takes it hesitantly, "You think it's cool?"

As long as he doesn't actually think she cheated, at least...and as long as he doesn't go off and inform all of her classmates.

"Well, either way, could you maybe try not to go around telling people about that?"

[tofudog]

"Yeah, okay! You wanna keep a low profile?" He wouldn't, if he was almost pretty much a professional gamer, but maybe she doesn't like the limelight.

[tatatarata]

"...Yeah. Exactly." That sounds a lot better than phrasing it as 'please don't embarrass me.'

"So you...pay attention to that kind of stuff?"

[tofudog]

"Of course I do! I'm not as into FPSes, but I'm a pretty serious gamer," he says. He's pretty casual compared to her, he suspects, but he isn't bad. "When I heard a mutant showed up in the big leagues, I had to look you up a bit. Makes you wonder how many of us there are out there, just keeping quiet in game. I mean, it's the internet. No one has to know!"

He realizes he messed up and gives her an apologetic look. "For most of us, at least." Hey, at least she isn't green irl.

"I guess I never bothered to think about that kind of thing...but I uh, didn't really know I was one until. Well. You saw the video."

Clearing her throat dramatically. Yeah, let's go back to something a little less awkward, "What -do you play, then?"

Oooh, that explained why she'd outed herself. He'd assumed it had been the mutant equivalent of her finger slipping, but that was her first experience? Bummer.

"Whatever! I destroy at like, every Street Fighter, but I can kick butt at racing games, too!" He hesitates, then admits, "And it's not like I don't play shooters, but... you're a little out of my league."

He wouldn't admit that to just anyone, but he's seen her stats. She'd blow him out of the water.
