For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

[Harsh, man. Super Bash Sisters may be great, but there's a real life person falling off the stage over here!

Aki's managing to keep her top half in the room, but she can't get much leverage, so she's sort of stuck. She slams one hand on the floor, trying to get Palutena's attention.]

Hey!

[knowitallgoddess]

[She pauses the game and turns to look at the same time. Whatever moment of surprise she had passes into a big smile.]

...what's wrong? You look a little down.

[...she couldn't help it.]

[upatbat]

[That joke fell so flat, it would have knocked Aki to the floor if she wasn't already falling through it.]

If you'd like to cheer me up, mind helping me get back on the floor?

[Maybe speaking in her pun-language will do the trick.]

[knowitallgoddess]

I certainly wouldn't mind but...

[She gets up and walks over but can't help but look a little hesitant.]

...is it even possible to grab you?

[upatbat]

[She nods, a little relieved. As long as she's getting help, a little joking around is fine.]

You can! Just grab my hand and pull, okay? I'll make sure you can touch it.

[She holds up one hand, which might look a bit more solid than the rest of her.]

Just don't float away on me.

[She reaches out and grabs her hand aaaand HUP. It's not that difficult, at least. Which was good because Palutena wasn't the physical sort of person.]

[upatbat]

[Aki's pretty slim and light, even when she's got her full weight attached, so she comes right out of the floor without much fuss. Once she's out, she makes sure her feet won't sink this time and snorts, quietly.]

Hey, I'm intangible, not a real ghost. I'm not flying anywhere!

[knowitallgoddess]

Just had to make sure.

[She reaches to brush Aki off but that doesn't work so well and she stops.]

So what brings you to get stuck in my room?

[upatbat]

[The sentiment is appreciated, at least, so Palutena gets a smile for that.]

I'm new, and I got a little lost while I was looking around.

[She puts her hands on her hips, glancing around the room properly. She'd been too busy trying not to fall out of it to look around before.]

You get this whole room to yourself?

[knowitallgoddess]

It'd certainly be nice but no. I have a roommate.

[Palutena, being Miss Goody Two Shoes, was just always early and always prepared.]

But you're always free to visit, if you'd like.

[upatbat]

Really?

[That's a nice thing to offer a stranger, and Aki blinks for a moment before nodding. She's not as used to people being that nice to her, so it's easy for her to be surprised by it.]

I might, if you and your roommate okay with it. What's your name?

[knowitallgoddess]

I'm sure she'll be fine with it.

[No, she's actually not but Palutena will make sure that her roomie will be fine. In the most menacing possible way.]

You can call me Palutena.

[upatbat]

"Palutena", huh? That's a nice name.

[And she only says that because she really thinks it's true.

She grabs the edge of her skirt and does a little mock-curtsy.]

I'm Aki. It's nice to meet you.

[knowitallgoddess]

Thanks!

[She returns the gesture with a bow.]

I'm guessing your name is Japanese?

[upatbat]

[She grins and nods. Good guess, Palutena!]

That's right! I was born and raised there, before we moved to the U.S. What about you? "Palutena" isn't very American that I've heard.

[knowitallgoddess]

That's because I was born and raised in Greece!

[upatbat]

Greece, huh? I've never been there, but the stories I've heard about it were interesting.

[Who doesn't love hearing around minotaurs and the hydra??]

[knowitallgoddess]

The stories are pretty nice but, to be honest, I haven't really seen anything around the country so stories are all I have.

[upatbat]

Wait, you're from a famous country like that, but you've never seen it? How's that work?

[She has her suspicions, but she'll let Palutena answer first.]

[knowitallgoddess]

Things have been a little dangerous is Greece for a while. Mostly, there's a lot of problems and not many places to vent anger. Combined that I tend to stand out when I use my abilities, my parents decided it would be smarter to keep me at home for a long while.

[upatbat]

Oh... I did a lot of hiding, too, but I at least got to move around and see the country I was born in.

[She winces in sympathy.]

But at least there's not going to be any of that around here.

[knowitallgoddess]

Yep! And that's why I'm glad to be here. I'm sure, in the end, things will work out for us.

[upatbat]

I hope so. It'd be nice to have a real place where none of us have to hide ourselves, one way or another.
