For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

"So generous," she murmurs into her coffee, though it's not clear whether she means it mockingly or genuinely.

Of course he notices, but he decides not to comment on it, merely remaining silent to see if she would say anything else.

She doesn't and instead quietly enjoys her coffee in silence for a while before finally asking, "So. Excited for classes to begin and for your classroom to be filled with eager pupils?"

He doesn't immediately return to his book, instead perusing its back cover before cupping his hands and looking at something between them. At Christelle's question he opens them again, and whatever he had been paying attention to disappears.

"Yes. I hope they are indeed eager students." He sighs a little here. "I may have to coax the unwilling ones a little."

Depending on their attitude, it would either be a brief tutoring process or some sort of hell.

"Per'aps God will smile on you and bless you with a classroom of angels," she answers serenely, though the grin she reveals says she thinks this is as likely as her quitting smoking.

"Well, that would be for the best." He does note her smile, but doesn't comment on it. "It will be an interesting experience, in any case.

Well, he's so far manage to stomach her light jabs and whatnot so far, so she flashes him a brief, genuine smile as she tilts her head in concession with a murmured, "I'm sure you will do well," into her coffee.

"I certainly hope so." He says this with a slight chuckle, almost with a hint of self-doubt. He's had teaching experience, yes, but it was in a different cultural setting. Things have changed here.

[seduceme]

"Just remember not to show any weakness to the students and they won't 'ave anything to exploit," she shrugs, as if that's the most natural mindset any teacher should have regarding their pupils.

[thirdarrow]

"I will keep that in mind, thank you." Personally he preferred a more amiable relationship between teachers and students, but even with his patience he is firm enough to not take any of his bullshit.

He hasn't had to, so far. But incidents in his previous institution have given him the oppoturnity to hone his seriousness. (Some would even say it was terrifying.)

She smiles pleasantly and bows her head before resuming quietly enjoying her coffee, drawing out her PDA from her cleavage (you didn't see that) to check her emails and to let him return to his book if he so pleases.

He did not see that. Obviously not. A true gentleman never embarrasses a lady.

Seeing that the conversation has well and truly ended, he opens his book again and resumes reading - and he will be there for another hour still.
