For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

Are you already accusing me of being a veritable black hole, in the first volley? Truly, it seems your master plan has flaws.

If you were truly insulted, you probably would have walked out. I'm given a big advantage by having cookies, you see.

Perhaps, then, I'm only mostly insulted. Though I wouldn't deny your advantage.

So really, you kind of just want cookies?

[aile_noire]

I personally wouldn't phrase it as 'kind of just want.' I'd pick 'merely.'

Though, does it not accomplish your own goals? You've successfully drawn over an instuctor—and no doubt other students—for conversation.

I'll admit that my battle strategy was certainly flawless but nothing slips past my All Seeing Eye of Palutena.

Was anything trying to?

[She drew her over with the promise of cookies. Withdraw them from the oven already]

That knowledge is top secret classified.

[No but tantalizingly stepping towards a oven mitt.]

[She laughs quietly to herself.]

Dramatic play aside; I'd say this was a pretty good way to draw people out on the first day.

I've got quite a bit of experience in that area. Buuuuut...

[Agonizingly opening the oven very slowly.]

But? Is there some sort of fine print?

[You fool! Remilia is a master of outward expression. She can look patient all day. Well, most of it.]

Only if you want to be bureaucratic.

[Which was for lamers. What wasn't was the cookies coming up on the counter.]

I question the sanity of anyone that voluntarily wishes to be involved in politics.

[The cookies will not be deemed lame or not lame until after they have been taste-tested. They get a courtesy fifteen seconds to cool off in an interest of self-survival.]

[Remilia extends a hand over the counter after the other removes her oven mitts.]

I shouldn't go about foiling your plans. I am Remilia Scarlet; economics, advanced French, and flight instruction.

Palutena, a senior.

[A senior who has no idea what she's going to do with her future. But she assumes that's a handshake. Done with one hand while she reaches for a spatula with the other.]

A pleasure. [Palutena assumed right.]

[And now Remilia will wait (patiently) for her cookies. What kind?]

[Chocolate chip, which is now going onto a plate for eating from.]

[And she delicately plucks one up between two claws. Only losers wait for them to cool to safe temperatures.]
