For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

...wait. No way.

Toph hurries over and (rudely) starts running her hand over Toshirou's face. Once she realizes that yeah, it's him, she steps back. "Holy crap, you're out!"

Yeah, no. He is shoving that hand away as best he can. No touching. Is that so hard? Whether it actually is or not is irrelevant, okay. "Get your hand out of my face."

He huffs when she's done. "Yeah, I am."

Toph doesn't bother apologizing--yeah, it's rude, but can you blame her?

"Holy crap," she says again. "How long?"

Yes he can blame her. He's an old hand at blaming people for their weirdness and invading his personal space. It's very easy, really.

He shrugs. "A few days." Hardly enough time to get used to anything. His brain is still having trouble conceptualizing that he's missed five years.

Jerk.

"Damn." Toph lets out a low whistle while Bender sniffs Toshirou. "You staying at school or going somewhere else?"

Always.

He watches as Bender sniffs at him, but doesn't bother to move otherwise. New guide dog, huh? Of course. It's certainly been long enough for that.

"I'm not leaving." It had been a . . . conversation with Granny about that one. After what had happened, the school isn't really the safest place to be. And he has enough control over his power now that he could easily keep it from harming her. That had been his only goal when he'd fist come to the school. He'd achieved it, really. But things had changed along the way.

Toph smiles. "Awesome. By the way, I'm the combat teacher for the newbies."

He looks at her oddly for that. Not that he necessarily doubts her capability, but being a teacher of anything at her age strikes him as unusual. Then again, who is he to talk about age?

"Huh. Guess I'll be seeing you, then. Should make sure I've still got my basics covered."

People he'd gone to school with only a short time ago -- to him -- are now his teachers. This is going to take a little adjusting to.

"You probably do, but who knows what five years of sleeping'll do to your muscles," she agrees. "If you wind up being too good for the class, I may see if I can get you as a seeing-eye student for later in the semester if you're cool with that?"

"Yeah, I'm probably out of shape." It's easier to talk about stasis when he's dealing with practical applications and not worrying about how the world has moved on without him. Practical he can do. "And yeah, that's fine."
