For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

[[ ooc: This is the general mingling post for all of our characters to get settled into their rooms, get to know each other, reminisce with old friends, all that jazz. The log will be split into multiple locations. ]]

A-a-a-accident! [Raises his hands in surrender.]

I didn't realize how much pressure I was putting on it...

I-It happens a lot, I swear! It just...usually doesn't...get so much distance, wow.

Is your mutant power destruction of pencils or something?

[That's sarcasm, of course.]

[drawitagain]

[Haruka laughs pretty hard at that.]

It feels like it sometimes, but no!

I'm just really strong. And sometimes I forget how strong I'm capable of being...

Pretty boring power, I know. It's caused me quite a bit of trouble. [It's also the reason he isn't dead but he makes an effort not to mention his illness to people he just met.]

So many people can do such interesting things here! It's so impressive! All I'm really good for is lifting heavy things and running fast.

[tatatarata]

Well at least you won't have any trouble with all the fighting and stuff, I guess. Everyone makes such a big deal out of it.

[drawitagain]

[Haruka looks away nervously.]

I'm not so sure, actually.

Punching people is...I wouldn't want to hurt anyone! And I'm strong enough that I could really do a lot of damage to someone if I did, so...I'd rather just, help out in other ways!

[tatatarata]

You know they make everyone here do that kinda stuff, right?

[drawitagain]

[Haruka laughs ambiguously. Probably difficult to discern if its sincere or a nervous coverup.]

Sounds like I'm gonna have a hard time here!

I really just want to draw. And eat. And sleep. [He looks at her with a smile.] Those are the things I like best.

I feel like I got the wrong powers, but I guess mutants can't be choosers, huh?

[Haruka pokes himself absentmindedly with the eraser of his now bifurcated pencil.]

Hey, I have an idea! What if I found a partner for the combat classes who's mutant ability was something like intangibility! Then I wouldn't have to worry about accidentally hurting anyone! [Gringrin. Oh Haruka. You are a genius.]

[tatatarata]

Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?

[This guy is definitely...simple.]

[drawitagain]

It's just a class, right? So as long as I have the skills they teach me, it shouldn't matter whether my partner is tangible or not! {Again, so pleased with his own logic.]

Say...You wouldn't happen to have a power like that, would you? [He looks so excited by this prospect. Two birds with one stone!!]

[tatatarata]

Yeah...nothing like that at all, actually.

[drawitagain]

[He laughs somewhat apologetically that he even asked.]

Oh really? Hehe, darn! It was a long shot, but I couldn't help myself!

While we're on the subject, would you feel comfortable sharing what yours is with me?

[tatatarata]

I can control technology. Sort of.

[drawitagain]

...That sounds really cool! [Haruka's eyes light up like he's looking at a superhero.]

How so?

[tatatarata]

I have to kind of, uh...put myself into it.

[drawitagain]

[You've lost him.]

Put yourself into it?

Like...a USB?

[tatatarata]

...Take out your phone.

[drawitagain]

Oh, okay...[He pulls out a bright yellow iphone.]

What do I do next?

[tatatarata]

Keep an eye on it.

[And with that, Takane loses consciousness and her body falls to the ground.]

[drawitagain]

[OH GOD HE KILLED HER. HE SHOULDN'T HAVE ASKED HER TO SHOW HIM WHAT IF SHE WASN'T ABLE TO CONTROL HER POWERS OR SOMETHING.]

Ah! Are you okay!?

[Haruka has some pretty fast reflexes, but he absolutely wasn't expecting her to collapse like that. Quickly and worriedly, he picks her body up off the ground and places her onto the couch.]

T-Takane! Hey! Can you hear me? [At this point he's all but forgotten what she said about his phone as it sits on the table in front of him.]

[tatatarata]

[Well there's noise coming from that phone, and she sounds...somewhat more cheerful than before.]

Hellllllo? I'm over here.

[drawitagain]

[Haruka's worries turn into confusion as his attention turns to the blue girl inside the phone.]

Takan..e...?

[A long, long pause.]

You're...blue!

[tatatarata]

Nothing gets past you, huh?

[But now she looks a biiiit embarrassed.]

It's kinda weird, isn't it...

[drawitagain]

[Oh no no no, Haruka's face is that of a child at an amusement park.]

It's incredible! That's the coolest power I've ever seen! You're really in the phone!

[tatatarata]

Yeah, I...really am.

[Burying her face in her hands sleeves.]

There's lots of cooler things out there...

[drawitagain]

[He leans his cheek on his hand and picks up the phone with the other, able to look at her more directly.]

A lot of powers are really cool, but making yourself digital is something I never even imagined!
