For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

[[ ooc: This is the general mingling post for all of our characters to get settled into their rooms, get to know each other, reminisce with old friends, all that jazz. The log will be split into multiple locations. ]]

Probably someone terrible.

[She sits on the bed kicking her legs slightly as she watches the other girl unpack]

So why'dja bring a little tree?

I'm not sure about that. I mean, the other students don't seem too bad. One or two are a bit... odd, but I assume that's part of being a mutant.

[She lights up a little.]

Oh, this? It's a bonsai tree, have you heard of them?

[toycommander]

Yea.

[She's not sure she wants to comment too much about her fellow students yet. Currently she's less than impressed ]

No, not really. Only trees I know are outside.

[eternalprincess]

Maybe you just need to meet more of them.

[Looks like Kaguya is going be the more optimistic of the two.]

It's simply the art of cultivating miniature trees. And it's harder than it looks, I assure you.

[toycommander]

[She just shrugs at the comment about other students. It's not worth arguing about on the first day]

So are they like a species that grows small, or is it in the cultivation?

[eternalprincess]

Purely cultivation, really. It's a hobby I picked up when I was only fourteen, I like to think I've gotten good at it.

[And yes, she kind of is good at it.]

[toycommander]

That's kinda awesome. My friend Princess used to grow flowers. Roses and stuff. But she never did anything like that.

[eternalprincess]

[She smiled a little.] There's finesse and skill needed even in gardening. Just don't ask me to cook, I'll end up burning something.

[toycommander]

I can cook a little bit, but mom didn't like me being in the kitchen, so my skills are really limited there. I guess everyone's got their own things they're good at.

[eternalprincess]

Well, you're already better at it than I am...

[toycommander]

[A shrug] Well, I'm sure there's a class or club for it here, if you wanted to learn.

Hey, do you think they'd let us put up shelves?
