For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

What in the world was there to be so smiley about? This would never cease to confuse him on some level.

"I suppose it is." The pun, unintentional or otherwise, was so overdone, boring, and pathetic that he couldn't even bring himself to be annoyed by it.

Koshi's just excited to see his first real mutant with super powers and all that (He doesn't consider going to the hospital after a fatal injury and coming out alive after months of recovery to be a super power).

"Ah, sorry... I didn't mean to, I swear." He feels kind of bad about that pun, since he's sure the kid's already heard it a bunch. "But I that really is, uh, neat. So you have, what, cold powers?"

Look, when Toushirou had first showed up at school, he'd spent all his time being annoyed at his power going off when he hadn't wanted it to. What was excitement? And really, he just wasn't an excitable person in general. You people and your bouncy, babbling energy. He did not know where anybody got that.

"Cryokinesis, yes." Because that was a word that was sensible to use with somebody whose English wasn't that great.

He is going to SUPER school with SUPER heroes and people with SUPER powers how can that not be exciting it's like being in a manga or something.

"Cry-oh... so, uh, yeah then?" Yeah, he didn't catch that one at all. "Can you make ice and stuff?"

Yeah, no. Toushirou just didn't understand that mindset and probably never would. The things that could happen here were serious business, not a comic book.

He shrugged. "And sleet, snow, frost." Said like it was the most natural thing in the world because for him, it really was. His mutation had first triggered when he'd been asleep, for crying out loud. If that didn't make it natural, what did?

Basically the opposite of Koshi - his powers had been triggered by one of the most traumatic events possible, but they were barely even noticeable even now. Even now that he was here, facing someone with actual super powers - or perhaps because of it - he didn't feel like he actually had any powers at all.

"Wow... you seem so-" Don't say cool "-nonchalant about it! Have you had those powers for a while?"
