For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

My name is Elsa. ...Haraldsen. Elsa Haraldsen. [It takes her a second to remember she has a last name.]

[Hoping to cover up that little blunder, Elsa drops what she's doing and moves across the room. She bows slightly, being unwilling to extend her hand for a shake.] Nor will mine. I spend much of my time reading, so social gatherings will not be a common occurrence.

Regardless, welcome.

[Arturia did raise an eyebrow at that little pause but chose not to comment, nor did the bow bother her. She generally didn't like physical contact unless necessary anyways.]

I am afraid you will not have much of a choice regarding social gatherings. Forgive me for saying so, but you are new to the school and sure to catch the eye of many.

[frigokinetic]

I understand. [Elsa nods. She may be rather... sensitive, but she is not so delicate that she will be offended by others talking back to her.] However, said social gatherings will be held by other people in other places, not here. I have no plans to host anything.

...That isn't to say that you can't visit me when you want to, of course.

[She just wants to have a little corner to herself, is all.]

[Not that Arturia planned to visit or expected Elsa to come over, but it would be rude to not extend the same courtesy. Nothing about the woman, so far, gave her cause to not treat her with dignity.]

You may find some persistent students unwilling to grant you the privacy you wish. Should any cause you trouble, I am willing to help dissuade them from continuing their actions.

I appreciate it, but that will most likely not be necessary. [There's a pause.] ...I do hope you will understand if the temperature suddenly drops, though. Perhaps it would be best to keep extra blankets on hand.

[That garnered a raised eyebrow.]

Am I to assume you are a cryokinetic?

That's correct.

As long as there is not a layer of ice on the wall between our rooms, I shall be fine. My abilities involve mana and nothing that will affect you. [pause] Unless something is going on that you should be worried about.

[Like Arturia losing her temper.]

[Uh. Was that a threat? Elsa has the sinking feeling that was a threat.]

Bad dreams. I have not lashed out in response to one for several years now, but my summer was less than pleasant.

Oh. I'm sorry.

...Well, I've brought tea. You are free to take some if you think it will help you sleep.

I appreciate the offer. It is hard to find good tea in this country.
