For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

An empty room's an empty room, so it isn't a big deal. It's not like I was going to go through anyone's stuff!

[Overreacting much, Takane?? She shakes her head and denies it, all the same.]

"Well since he's last, first drink is on him, then," Reimu chuckled, pushing off of where he was leaning and heading inside. With no offer to help Feliks with his stuff, of course.

Really?

[That's a nice thing to offer a stranger, and Aki blinks for a moment before nodding. She's not as used to people being that nice to her, so it's easy for her to be surprised by it.]

I might, if you and your roommate okay with it. What's your name?

Good enough for Reimu, at least.

"Reimu Hakurei. X-Man. Codename Kannushi." Plus his was significantly shorter.

If you cause an incident, I'm going to smack you. -Reimu was in NO MOOD for shenanigans, apparently.-

Just jumping? You're pretty good at it.

[She backs up a step, just to make sure he has room to land without them bumping into each other. Once he's down, she moves closer, one hand on her hip as she talks.]

But you're not going to break your neck if you fall out, right?

[She stares him down, concerned but trying not to be pushy about it. She might be failing already.]

[Kanji is totally not looking in here out of any desire to actually go in and see what's around. Really. He's not. He ... just wants to get the lay of what's where around the school!

(...Sure.)

But in any case, there's a punk-looking boy wandering around near the sewing machines, trying to think of excuses in case he gets caught in here...]

How close to this room do you live, anyway?

[Wait, though. She recognizes this. She gives Palutena a slightly judgmental look.]

...Super Bash Sisters, really?

Flandre made...half of a sneezing noise in response! And her wings bristled up partway before remembering that she heard words that were connected to a voice and she knew that voice.

"Marisa!"

And now she actually turns around to look.

"Is this where you've gotten off to, then." She's smiling, though, so it didn't seem to be a serious offense.

He has heard of the name Hakurei before. A quick search in his memory turned up tales of a miko who had been one of Japan's very few respected mutants. They might be related, then.

"I see. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."

It must be good to at least have a family.

[Garfield doesn't have a ton of stuff to move in, just a suitcase in one hand and a box under the opposite arm. He hasn't had a lot of time to acquire clutter, but he sure intends to as soon as possible. There's so much sweet stuff you can order when your address isn't top secret!

Welp, this must be the room. His suitcase clunks against the door as he pushes it open the rest of the way. When he spots the guy he assumes is his roommate, he grins widely. This guy looks bad! In the cool way.]

Dude! Have you seen this place? This has gotta be the fanciest building I've ever seen. And it's a school? How crazy is that?

He aligns his fingertips together, smiling faintly.

"If you were to be offered an oppoturnity to learn skills in that field, would you be interested?"

Just doing a check now. If there are too little people, he might have to postpone the idea.

[frigokinetic]

I understand. [Elsa nods. She may be rather... sensitive, but she is not so delicate that she will be offended by others talking back to her.] However, said social gatherings will be held by other people in other places, not here. I have no plans to host anything.

...That isn't to say that you can't visit me when you want to, of course.

[She just wants to have a little corner to herself, is all.]

Hectic.

[Elsa says this with a quiet sigh; normally she would go for something along the lines of "fine, thank you," but she's just grateful to have someone to vent to right now.]

I'm sure it will get easier as time goes on. But now, it's all very... unfamiliar. [Not to mention people keep walking up to her and casually try to get chummy with the queen of a country. There's just so much do not want in those situations, and they occur far too often.]

Alric is out exploring the grounds a bit more, after the moving-in has quieted down. In particular, he's interested in finding good trees for climbing and relaxing in, as well as other places to find some peace and quiet, and the garden seems like a good start.

He's a little surprised at the hydrokinetic display, though, and pauses to observe, eyebrows raised--and, when the show ends abruptly with a splash, applauds politely.

"My... I must say, you seem to exhibit a most impressive degree of mastery... it's somewhat humbling."

Even so, he certainly seems to be in good cheer.

[The voice is unfamiliar, but then, all of these voices are. So Elsa calls out a welcome to the stranger, taking a momentary pause from book-sorting to get a better look at her. A part of her wants to ask if she can help Flandre with anything, but that might be awkward -- so she simply remains quiet.]

"Elsa Haraldsen." Quietly, the girl is proud of herself for remembering to add her American last name. "A good morning to you too, Mr. Hijikata." Her tongue trips a little on the pronunciation; a Norwegian girl speaking English attempting to repeat Japanese is a very difficult setup indeed. Trying again, she knows, will only lead to more embarrassment, so she simply tries to let it go.

"I remember you mentioning kendo club earlier," she continues, tone almost uncomfortably polite. "This must be it."

Come on...Ya know me. None of that until at least week 3.

[But she's going to stop throwing stars at least]

Hey Toph! How's it going?

It was and the culprit is a very short 21 year old laughing from behind a couch in a near by room. She's not paying attention.

[It takes Toph a moment to place the voice but she grins when she does]

Hey, Amelia. What--Bender, sit.

[The dog, who had been about to bolt, sits and whines. Despite having gone through training, Bender is still freaked out by mutants. Amelia has wings. Amelia scares Bender.]

He looks at her oddly for that. Not that he necessarily doubts her capability, but being a teacher of anything at her age strikes him as unusual. Then again, who is he to talk about age?

"Huh. Guess I'll be seeing you, then. Should make sure I've still got my basics covered."

People he'd gone to school with only a short time ago -- to him -- are now his teachers. This is going to take a little adjusting to.

"You probably do, but who knows what five years of sleeping'll do to your muscles," she agrees. "If you wind up being too good for the class, I may see if I can get you as a seeing-eye student for later in the semester if you're cool with that?"
