For all of the newcomers, welcome to Professor Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning! For all of our returning students and staff, welcome back! Once Professor Xavier’s welcome speech wraps up, it’s time for everyone to get themselves situated in their dorms and, more importantly, get to know your fellow mutants! Even if you’re not sharing rooms, you’ll still be sharing the same campus with each other, so don’t be afraid to get used to all of those new faces! Or even catch up on old ones! You have options; don’t be afraid to use them.

[One might notice some little kid wandering around the grounds marveling at all of it. Even in a school full of mutants, having pastel pink hair like his stands out.]

Wow, this place really is huge!

[Of course it seems that way to someone so small... no one would ever guess he's one of the 10th graders, being not even 5ft tall. He acts like a little kid too, openly gawking at anyone who's openly showing their powers or has an unusual appearance... as much as he's gawking at simply the grounds and architecture. It's the first day of school, and boy is he excited to be here!

Eager to get a lay of the grounds, he can be found... pretty much everywhere, looking around.]

[And once he's got his stuff in his room, wandering is basically what Feliks is doing, too, taking in that little scrap of summer that's left before the school year gets started in earnest.]

[He's often a little nervous about approaching strangers, but it's easier with other small people -- this one looks like he might even be a little shorter than him! And he has fantastic hair, which might kind of also encourage Feliks to act in spite of his little block.]

Right? It's like, a little ridiculous!

I mean, how can we like actually have this much land and no ponies on it? Nobody ever gets back to me on that...

[At finally decided 4'9", it's not hard to be taller than him...

He's pretty excited to meet other students, though there's a look of confusion at that last part]

Uh, ponies?

[A what the what now?]

[Whoops, he did the thing again, didn't he? The thing where he gets kind of over-excited about trying to talk to someone new, and ends up saying something sort of... out of nowhere and weird.]

[And all he can think to do is just sort of double down and keep talking.]

I just mean like, there's so much space! It's not like they wouldn't have anywhere to run, and some people have pets, but they're always all no Feliks that's not a pet you can have here and junk.

[Babbling: The best way to make a first impression!]

[Well, he's met weirder. At least he seems friendly?]

Well I mean, don't you need like... somewhere to keep them and a field or something? I'd think it might be dangerous to let a pony just wander around here... [For either the students or the pony, really.]

[Feliks pouts a little at that.]

Well, there's tons of fields! How hard could it be to build like a little barn or something, right?

...Anyway, I'm Feliks!

It'd take a bit of work, I imagine. Plus then you have to care for it...

I'm Koshi. [Even if it feels weird introducing on first-name basis. Sure is America.] It's nice to meet you.

Are you kidding? I'd take such good care of a pony!

But nice to meet you, anyway! You're like, new, right?

[batteredbatter]

It seems like a lot of responsibility for just one student...

Yeah, I am. Today's my first day.

Well, I'm like, a TA! And an X-man. So I should totally get some more cool responsibilities, right~?

And that's awesome! It's rad here, you're gonna love it!

What, really!? [BUT YOU'RE SO TINY... at least Koshi can't pretend he'll still grow]

Haha, I certainly hope so.

[WOW RUDE. Feliks is just going to interpret that positively!]

I know, it must be a total shock to meet a real live X-man, right? You're gonna have to get used to it here, though! But they're not all gonna be as cute as me.

Anyway, trust me. It's kinda amazing!

[batteredbatter]

Yeah, that's pretty surprising too...

[Cute? Well, he guesses he's pretty cute... not that he cares.]

Well, hopefully I can keep up with all that!

Since you're new, I bet you have like a ton of questions and stuff! You can ask me if you want.

Okay, well...

What parts of going here differ the most from normal school? I mean, aside from the people in it - like the classes and stuff?

[niepokonany]

[Feliks's first reaction to questions like that is you get beat up a lot less, but he guesses that's not most people's experience of normal school, and maybe also it's part of 'the people in it'?]

Well, it's a boarding school, so that's pretty different from most middle or high schools? I guess how that goes depends on what kind of roommate you get, but most of them are pretty cool!

For the classes... most of them are pretty much the same, except the extra ones. Like, combat and power control and stuff?

[Regular combat classes: still "less getting beat up than normal school" to Feliks.]

Oh! And there's like, the student X-teams, if that's a thing you wanna do.

[batteredbatter]

[Tanaka lived somewhere nice enough he didn't get that beat up, even with the pink hair. Y'know, except the one time. That was. A lot worse than being beat up.]

That's true, there's not many like that. I hope my roommate's nice...

Oh wow, so there really are student hero teams and combat classes and stuff?

If they're not, you can probably whine someone into letting you change it. It's not like we don't have a ton of rooms open right now, right?

And yeah, definitely! Most people are in one combat class, at least. It's really good stuff to know!

I guess that's true... hopefully more people will be coming though.

Man, that really does make this sound like some kind of super-hero academy!

They'll come. I mean, we're here 'cause people kind of need us to be, right? More people are gonna find their way here, when they see we're doing ok.

...That is kind of our thing, isn't it?

[batteredbatter]

Yeah, I guess that's one way to look at it. [Even if sounds kind of downer]

I guess so? I mean, I mostly came here for the "school where no one picks on mutants" part.

[niepokonany]

Well, that's defs a plus, too! And I guess like if you're not into the whole superheroing thing, it's not like anybody has to be on an X-team if they don't wanna.

It sounds cool... I just, I dunno... I don't think I'd cut it.

It's not all about butt-kicking, you know? Like, my best friend's specialty is pretty much "mad people skills", and my first team was all about getting information and activism!

Oh, I guess I hadn't thought about that... I guess I could try something like that...
