"... since X-Day, it would appear that activity of both the Friends of Humanity and the Mutant Liberation Front have been largely contained. Authorities still urge caution, of course, but as far as the continuing violence is concerned, the streets are a little safer now. However, the leaders of both organizations are still at large. The FBI, along with SHIELD, have requested that any information to the whereabouts of MLF or FoH leadership be brought to them as quickly and discreetly as possible..."
"... holding her first concert since the violence broke out and her original tour was cancelled. Tickets to victims of anti-mutant violence were given entirely for free. Dazzler herself was quoted saying that now was a needed time for healing, and music plays an important role in that. She wants her fans to know that she is here for them, and she will do everything she can to help mutants still struggling in the wake of hatred and violence..."
"... Stryker has said that his vigil, continuing again after being released from the hospital, will continue until Claudine Renko, whom he holds personally responsible for the death of his son as well as the X-Day riots, is brought to justice. Senator Graydon Creed and the other Last Stand lawmakers have said they will stand with Reverend Stryker for the same goal. Creed went on to say that the only way from preventing something like X-Day from happening again is to pass the Mutant Registration Act, finally..."
"... Gabrielle Haller claiming that she and Genosha leadership have come to an agreement to stall potential international aggressions. The Passover Accords, as they are being called, were signed by both President Kelly and President Lensherr, sealing an agreement of non-aggression between the two powers, even if only temporarily..."

John Sublime plead guilty to all charges, and expressed his regret that his obsession lead to such horrible acts. He reiterated that all he wished for in his Third Species movement was for peace between human and mutant, and a better understanding of each other..."

Her first day back and already she was starting to question the idea of coming back to be safer. With no one here that she could talk to, as far as the feral knew, if was frustrating and upsetting. So for now, she'd start wandering to go outside..to start up her own little training she had done so long ago..]

She let the branches throw her from tree to tree, tracking the girl's progress, a bundle of leaves being tossed overhead with all the requisite noise of leaves being moved enmasse and branches creaking.
Of course, after a few moments, Rhia forgot about the other girl, and just enjoyed the feeling of flying from tree to tree. A peel of laughter, like bells in the wind would echo down to the other child.

He frowns as the news comes on, but he keeps his mouth shut. It's a little weird to be here again. He's not sure if it's a good idea. Maybe he shouldn't be here. He didn't tell anyone that he was coming back. He figures, if they want to see him, they'll see him. And if not, that's fine.]

For now, he tried to push away all that unpleasantness and focus on grading his students' work. There's something calming about reading a novice writer's emotions on paper.]

With a small wooshing sound, she asked the tree she was on to aid her, and the branch bent slightly, letting her slide down and land in front of him, all 13 year old, point eared short foot nothing of her, hands on hips, blue-grey eyes blazing with temper.
"Why do people keep burning plants?" she asked, glaring at his pipe.

[He frowns, standing in front of the teacher. He'd rather go back to boycotting classes, but he'd promised he'd give attending a try.]
Can I ask a question?
[He's generally polite to authority figures, even if grudgingly so at times. Unless one should happen to push one of his buttons.]

The mutant hadn't been in class very long; she mostly sat in on his classes, rather than something for credit or a grade or however that was calculated. It was good for her, or was supposed to be. She spent a lot of time spaced out and drifting in her own thoughts, as she usually did.
But she did pay attention sometimes; she even turned something in when he'd asked. She made a little note at the top of the paper, that she wasn't actually taking the class, this wasn't for a grade, but was unsure what else to put. So she left it out.
Kaede's thoughts lingered on the idea long enough that she shambled towards his office when she could manage, gait stabilizing and growing slightly more confident every other step. She even knocked on the doorframe with a telekinetic vector, though she lingered there quietly a moment longer.]
...have you looked at mine?
[Kaede tried to keep her voice softer, slightly more polite; the most she managed was a quieter version of her usual taciturn grumble.
She had...well, not written the most polished thing. It was something to pass the time with, instead of sitting and simmering in her own anger and distant pain. She had started out with a poem, transitioned to free verse when rhyme schemes in English escaped her, then abruptly started over in hiragana when her grasp of English couldn't encompass what she meant to say.
Not about her foster mother, no--she wasn't ready to talk about that.
She wrote about trees--that was a good topic for a poem, wasn't it? Even if it stopped being one halfway through. Especially in autumn, especially under maple trees. Sitting under them made her calm, no matter how angry she was--even if it was just for a moment. A moment that her mind could stretch out forever. Ants could crawl on her all they wanted (she mentioned that too)--that wasn't important.]

[Patchouli was frowning up at the TV, she did not expect the Passover Accords to last the week before someone decides to be an idiot and cause a new crisis. There were far too many people, human and mutant alike, who are far too quick to violence.]

Well, she couldn't worry about it at the moment, there was at least a little good news. Not the Genosha thing; that would probably go away anyway, but that the violence had at least toned down a little. Too many young people being exposed to too much violence, too young. It wasn't good for them.
Quietly, with the news still droning in the background, Sakuya slipped out of the lounge, dunking the teabag a few times idly as she walked, and headed for the outside. A bit of fresh air would help, too.]

"Reconciliation? Is Magneto being prudent or cowardly?"

[X-Day]
[He glances up, and just gives the screen a wry little smile at the request for information.]
[Well, that's not going to happen unless the Professor changes his stance.]
[Dazzler]
Oh my God, I totally missed the memo about that. The show I had tickets to was canceled, to!
...She looks great in that outfit.
[Stryker + Creed]
[When all this started, Feliks was full of fire and venom.]
[Today, he's no less determined to change something, but he's a little more contemplative. He doesn't buy into supremacist rhetoric, refuses to surrender to the notion that violence is the only path forward and upward. His action has always been driven by a vision of understanding and tolerance, and so it's always been focused on changing hearts and minds.]
[How do you change people like that?]
[He leans forward, arms around his knees, and looks at the TV like a kid with a stubborn puzzle.]
[Passover Accords]
[Feliks gets a big damn grin on his face about that part.]
Sweet, go them! I mean, like, baby steps and all, but still way better than nothing.
[Sublime]
[There's some eye-rolling at this point, as he flips through a fashion magazine.]
"I'm John Sublime, and I totally invaded a school with guns and stolen mutant organs for like, peace or whatever..."
[Passover]
Definitely! I have a feeling this will work out in the end.

[With the school year getting towards its close, he doesn't have all that much free time. That means it's time to multitask.]
[He's set up camp in his usual classroom, with the TV turned to the news, his cat in a basket on the next desk, and a stack of homework in front of him. When the news turns to fluffier things -- the start of the baseball season, whatever is happening with Dazzler -- his focus is entirely on the homework. Whenever things turn more serious, though, he picks up a notepad and starts taking down points he wants to look into further.]
[And when his work is done and the news gets repetitive, he gets up and goes to the whiteboard as usual, to plot things out again.]
[B]
[Of course, there's never an end to his questions. That's not the way the world is.]
[After he's been stuck for a while, he's finally forced to admit that's all the work he'll get done for now. He contemplates the board a moment longer, then erases everything, puts his notebook in his briefcase, and heads outside for a smoke outside the nearest exit.]
[Is there anything nicotine doesn't fix?]

That whole day was so frightening... I'm glad it seems to have settled down a little.

You know, no one in my old town seemed to listen to her very much. Is she popular here?
[Stryker + Creed]
...What are we going to do, if they do pass it? I... [She shakes her head, looking worried and a little at a loss.]
[Passover Accords]
[She relaxes visibly.] Finally, some good news.
[Sublime]
[She wasn't here, but she's heard rumors about what happened, of course. That being said, Krista isn't sure what to make of the update, and just watches in silence.]
[Dazzler]

It amazes me at times how scathingly stupid some people may be. But that man is clever, he uses non-mutant superiority and privilege to press his cause. And if anyone kills him, the blame will only be put on mutants. Most insiduous...

[News? Who cares about the news? Caelius has more important things to worry about, like the weather finally warming up. After such a severe winter, that simple fact makes him feel like celebrating, so on a whim, he swings outside for a quick walk around lunchtime. He's even wearing shirt sleeves short enough to expose the scales on his arms, for once.
When anyone else crosses his path, he smiles brightly and greets them.]
